This is a restaurant located inside the Mercantile on Main shopping mall; you'll know it when you see it, once you spot their large windows filled with people eating in comfortable booths, having a lovely outing. It makes one want to join in on the fun, and that's exactly what I did on my first night in Bisbee.
I was escorted to a seat that felt pretty close to the kitchen area, because I heard a lot of dishes, trays, etc. moving around, and at one point I heard something smash on the floor. Given the space of the restaurant, I don't expect this dilemma to be fixed, but the noise was a big distraction.
The server was friendly, and checked on me several times to make sure I was enjoying myself. I ordered an Austin Burger with a side of House Fries, and I also got to try their Mussels & Onion Rings. It was good, but I wouldn't say it was amazing. I didn't like one of the sauces that came with the fries; I honestly forgot what it was because I only tasted it one time and I didn't want to try it again. If I had to guess, it was probably ranch sauce.
At one point, I asked where their restroom was, and they said it was located on the 2nd floor of the mall. I went upstairs to that restroom, and it was unpleasant, from the visuals to the smell. There were no toilet covers, and in the compartment where they'd be at, someone put a random magazine in there. I know it's convenient to have that restroom as a mutual spot for all visitors to go to, and I also know that this is not exactly a fault with the restaurant, but it does have an effect on the overall experience. I would hope there's someone who's more vigilant in keeping the restroom supplied with hygienic items, making it smell nice, etc.
Fortunately, what matters most in this circumstance is how the restaurant was as a whole, and it was very clean & smelled pleasant. It has food that anybody could enjoy, and the service is efficient. While the quality of the food is average at best, I would still come to "Bisbee's Table" again if I was really hungry. Perhaps I just haven't found THE meal for me yet, and I'm open to giving this spot...
Read moreWe were so excited to visit Bisbee. After looking for a place to eat we decided on the Table. Worst mistake ever. First we had a 40 min wait. That was ok because if the food is good then it is worth it. I needed to visit the restroom and this is when it all started to go down hill. The restroom had no toilet paper. The base of the toilet was broken and paper was all over the bathroom. No soap and the water was ice cold. Ok fast forward to finally we get to sit down 41 min later. We sat there and watched people come in and sit down then the table that came in about 10min after us was then being served drinks. I look at my watch and it has been 26 min and no one has even stopped by or taken our drink order. Not even a glass of water. I then go request for a waiter. He comes and takes our order. The birthday girl requested mayo, mustard and ketchup on the side. 34 min later we get our water and one beer. About 10 min later our food shows up. With no mustard, mayo or ketchup. We then wait for the waiter to come back. It took 18 min for him to notice that he forgot the sides. I had already went to the front desk to address this. He then brings the sides 24 min later and I told him my chicken sandwich and the birthday girls burger and fries are cold. He said I'm sorry I forgot. Really that is all you have to say. Service is horrible and not to mention the bathroom would not eat here. I should have ran out after the first clue. The food would have been good if it was hot, or even warm. We took it to go and had them throw the fries away. Sad birthday dinner. Thanks guys where did customer service go to?? Oh ya The waiter gave up a $1.20 credit for the drink and the burger. Really now a that was a slap in the face. You should have kept it. Might I add he never asked the birthday girl if she wanted another...
Read moreThis was the hoppingest restaurant in town at 7:30p on a Sunday night in late March, which tells you something about the food and ambience, which were both worth our short wait for a table (no reservations accepted 😟). The decor was rich wood with an unusual open raftered ceiling, with well-loved booths along one side of the dining room and tables along the other, with unique, seemingly handmade copper (appropriate for this former mining town) light fixtures and counterweighted fixtures over the window tables. Striking glass panels separate the dining room from the bar, which are photo etched with scenes of Bisbee from its mining days. The bar itself is veined white marble under vintage brass fixtures. It looks like a fun place to drink, dine, or hang out. We snagged a table in the main dining room but would have been happy to sit at the bar or in the overflow dining room, which has charm similar to the main part of the restaurant. Outside the restaurant, which is entered through the inside of what looks like an old department store, well-placed antiques complete the old-time feel: bicycles and tricycles, wheels, an iron safe, and an upright piano. We were VERY happy with the wine list, which offered ONLY bottles for less than $50, and it listed red wines first. The menu offers a small but well-curated selection of starters, burgers, mains, salads, and pizzas. I was very happy with the stack of ribs starter (same quantity as the main, but without the sides) and a Caesar salad (served together) and Sarah liked her New York style Margherita pizza, which was almost a white pizza, which I prefer. This restaurant is now one of our Bisbee go-tos. YouTube’s...
