I can't say enough good things about this place. I had previously done a couple of escape rooms at other establishments and was not all that excited by them. After a lot of pressuring into doing one of the rooms here with some friends, my opinion of escape rooms completely flipped -- although it's hard for me to imagine other places living up to the high bar set here.
As part of this same group, we've now done all 3 of the rooms here (and are very much looking forward to a 4th opening sometime in the near future). Each one has been very different, and with a great variety of puzzles and challenges. Nobody felt left out in any room -- participation was crucial from all group members and everyone gets to feel the pleasure of solving at least one crucial component. So to say, the rooms are very well designed. And the occasional immersive-type interactions from the host take the rooms to another level.
From a prior escape room hater, I find myself very highly recommending this place. Enough so that I felt inclined to write a review (which I very...
Read moreThe best parking is actually on the main street off the interstate with the entrance on East side of Hwy 9. There is a small public parking place with the driveway directly south of the bus stop/ bench. If you park there you can actually see the entrance from the far end of the public parking lot. The entrance to the escape room is in back of the building that Google directs you to on Black Mountain Ave so it’s hard to see until you walk around to the rear. There is a sidewalk around the south side of the building to the back if you happened to grab one of the few spots available on Black Mountain Ave.
Super awesome staff and they do a great job getting into their respective parts as actors… we’ve done all three and they were all excellent. Super nice people and the owner(I think) was very gracious and an enthusiastic actor himself. The USS McCoy escape room is very original and closer to a movie set… which is really cool, and for me the first one I would do because it is very unique. Looking forward to their fourth room...
Read moreWe stopped in for USS McKoy to escape the afternoon heat and were so glad we did. The moment you arrive in the lobby you’re in for an experience unrivalled by any other that we’ve seen. Before the game even begins, your gamemaster substitutes the typically tedious reading of rules with an enthusiastic in-character introduction to the adventure you’re about to experience. One of our favorite aspects of this room was the interaction with the period actor / gamemaster and full-fledged immersion that it provided. We enjoyed this room so much that we came back the very next day to try Out of Time, which also proved to be one of the best we've seen. We recommend USS McKoy for just about everyone. Out of Time is a little more challenging and better suited for larger groups but every bit as enjoyable. This was a challenging room that required teamwork, logic, and attention to detail. The entire experience was one of the best we’ve had in any room anywhere. We were smiling from the moment we entered the door until well after the...
