Poindexter — Restaurant in Bloomington

This is one of the best speakeasy cafes in Bloomington. Super under rated in my opinion! They have just enough food and drink items in the menu that you could go there everyday if the week and still have options left and their food and drink choices are amazing in themselves. I had the breakfast burrito and it was amazing! Try the greasy goodness of McDonald's breakfast except less grease and better ingredients. I also had the Nutella latte which is a must even if you don't like mocha (I don't). They're open 6:30-8pm right now but the lobby adjoined to the cafe stays open much longer (not sure it actually closes). They also have a grab and go food that's way better than anything on campus! I think my total came out to around 9 dollars before the tip for a full burrito (large) and small delicious latte. Service was also amazing and the baristas seem genuinely caring when asking how you like things. There's also abundant seating here!...

How are you people voting this place so high!?!?! Worst food experience in Bloomington hands down. The only good is it looks nice, like it could be in Chicago. However its too expensive for the quality and service: Coffee is too hot, oily, acid trash. Scrambled eggs looks like lumps of grey chicken, I could not eat it and tried to return the dish. As I hand the food back to the cashier (no servers here), she states, "Yeah, I never eat the eggs when this chef is cooking." Then more of the same looking dishes are handed proudly to people right next to me at the register. The best point is the entire work force, manager included, did not know how to refund credit card purchases - I had to keep calling management over the next 2 weeks to get...

Great space and vibe. Creative seasonal menu. Stopped in today with a couple friends. We placed our orders one after the other. First person’s drink came out in about 5 minutes. Second person and I waited about 12 additional minutes before being served. Instead of making our drinks they dumped the tip jar on the counter to count the AM tips, then proceeded to stamp the coffee sleeves. No drinks were being made at this time. Group of 4 comes in after us and orders sandwiches and drinks. They were all served about 5 minutes before our drinks were being started. And sadly, the 12oz hot chocolate I ordered was basically steamed milk with zero flavor. I so wanted to like this place, but sub-par service with a flavorless drink left much...
