I've never left a bad review for an ice cream shop before. How hard is it to mess up ice cream right? Well Kilwins has discovered the secret formula. We waited for 30 minutes to get our ice cream. 10 minutes in line and 20 minutes to get the actual ice cream. Two people behind us got the ice cream before me. When we actually got our chocolate peanut butter in a waffle cone with sprinkles there were about 20 sprinkles on top and the scoops we're weird half scopes. Thank goodness the incompetence from the person scooping left out the chocolate sprinkles, because they were as hard as rocks. The waffle cone was also brittle and hard making it impossible to enjoy the ice cream. all that said, the actual ice cream was okay although you could tell that their refrigerators were up too high because it was slightly crumbly. I had to go to Boone Toyota for warranty work on my car, on the way back down the mountain I stopped at Kilwins at Shoppes on the parkway for some chocolate peanut butter ice cream. I asked for a kids cup because I really don't need a whole scoop due to being a little chunky. I have been here before and gotten a kids cup and never was it as tiny as what I received that day. I paid almost $5 for a pathetic tiny scoop, I mentioned it to the young man who gave it to me but he ignored me. I left feeling like I was denied what I was owed for! It is located in an outlet shopping center, and what a treat! Decided to get a small cup of their cappuccino chocolate chip ice cream. It was DELICIOUS! very refreshing, and both the flavors were not overpowering. My husband got their chocolate milkshake, which was very rich and flavorful. They do offer free fudge samples, which were extremely delicious! They do make chocolate right their in the shop which you are able to see.
