Social on Main — Restaurant in Blowing Rock

We popped in for lunch 15 minutes before closing at 2. Once I realized the time I assumed it was too late but staff said they had no problem seating us. That was super nice and is the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of one for service. The place was clean and cute inside.

We ordered quickly and got our food in a snap. My Caprice Sandwich was disgusting. My sides were cold as were everyone else’s. The food was ok at best. The service after being seated left a lot to be desired. After our order was taken no one came back to ask about our food see if we wanted/needed anything else. Even water or a beverages other than water. When they came to get the check my whole sandwich was mostly uneaten and it was clear I was unimpressed. Even when it was clear was clear I was unhappy with my order nothing was offered to improve my experience.

I was excited to have breakfast with my family who had come into town, but this restaurant completely ruined the experience. I knew there would be a wait, so I went ahead and put my name on the waitlist, letting the hostess know there were 4 people in our party. While waiting, I checked my place in line and noticed it said my party was only for 3 people. I called to correct it, and the hostess assured me she fixed it to 4. However, when we got the notification that our table was ready, I was told it was only for 2 people, not 4.

The hostess had made a mistake after our phone call and admitted to it. She said she’d put us back on the waitlist, but by that point, we had already waited over an hour when we were originally told it would be 40 minutes. After waiting so long and seeing no resolution, my family and I decided to leave and eat somewhere else.

The customer service was top-notch, with attentive staff members ensuring every need was met with a smile. Now, onto the star of the show – the food. My husband and I both had a savory omelette, he had a veggie and I had the loaded omelette, every bite was a delight. The chefs at Social on Main truly know how to elevate breakfast to an art form. What's more, the prices were refreshingly reasonable, considering the quality of both the food and service. Dining here felt like a luxury experience without breaking the bank. Overall, I can't recommend Social on Main enough.
