So I just went in there not too long ago and I was next in line to order. The young lady saw me and completely ignored me while I was standing in line and was going to go right to the next person behind me. Even asked her what she wanted and literally just saw me walk up to the counter standing in front of her. I have a scarf on by the way and I have a pretty dirty job so I had on bleached clothes that are clearly meant to get dirty. That is no way to treat a customer and no excuse because you are racist. News flash black people are the ones who keep a small business running. By the way I am black and this was the worse experience of racism I have ever had and I typically do not like to play the race card but this was clear as day that this Caucasian woman with brown hair in a pony tail between the ages 30-40. I had to literally tell the woman don’t you see me standing here right in front of you waiting to order. She got an attitude and just looked at me didn’t ask me what did I want to order or nothing. So I had to proceed with telling the woman my order. Then they are not good at telling you the prices. I have been to the state line one and they are amazing, friendly, and great prices. Please start going to the state line road one because the ladies there are always the same ladies and they are always so so sweet to you. People come in and great them by name and actually know them for a while now. The stateline location care so much more for their customers than blue springs. Then when I went to pay the old lady told me that for 8 donuts and three milks it was $16. Of course I paid it but was pissed because who spends $16 on donuts. Go to stateline they have glazed donuts for Buy one get one free on glazed donuts. I asked the old lady next do they not have the same deals as them and she said no we cost full price and our are a better grade of donuts. If you ask me as a customer who pays I like the stateline road donuts better. Being black in America should not be a crime and no one should have to worry if they will get respect from others when helping support their paychecks coming in. I will not return to this location because the old ladies are not nice they said hi to all the white peoples when they walked in but not...
Read moreMy kids have food allergies and LaMar’s glazed donuts are the only donuts they can eat unless we want to drive 10 miles. This has worked out great because we try to get donuts once a month and on their birthdays as special treats.
Last weekend, my daughter turned 12 and we ordered what we always did. A dozen glazed with icing and sprinkles added to the top. This has never been an issue and the donuts were a hit as always.
This weekend, my other daughter turned 8 and we try to call in a preorder Friday to pickup Saturday. The guy on the phone says he’s unsure and confirms with the manager that they cannot do this. That adding icing and sprinkles to a glazed donut is impossible and won’t work. Strange since that’s all we’ve ever bought.
Today, my wife calls and tries again. The person on the phone gets the phone taken away from them by the manager. The manager says he can do it but we have to pay an up-charge. Even though we’ve never had to pay an up-charge before, she agrees because it’s for our daughter’s birthday. The manager then says they are out of icing and sprinkles and he can’t do it even if we pay the up-charge!
My wife gets plain glazed dozen and goes to Price Chopper to buy cake icing and sprinkles. She applies it to the glazed donuts so my daughter can have her special birthday treat. I told my wife never again. I’d rather drive 10 miles to another donut shop than deal with poor customer service from this “manager.” If you have sprinkles and icing and a customer is willing to pay extra even for it to be added to their donut why offer it, then turn them away?
There is never a good excuse for poor customer service but it makes even less sense during a pandemic when eating out and even grabbing donuts is quite a chore and less appealing. One would assume that now would be the time for businesses to improve customer service as a key differentiator to drive more sales and goodwill within...
Read moreExcellent. So after the storm, pretty much everyone's power was out. So lots of ppl were getting donuts. I went to dunkin donuts first because they were closer. They were running low on donuts which was understandable. What I didn't understand was the level of rudeness about it. After being rude they had the audacity to ask me what I was gonna order. I replied "nothing". So I called Lamar's before I headed that way. Admittedly I should have done that before going to Dunkins. The guy on the phone from Lamar's was so nice. I went there, got a dozen of excellent donuts. It was my first time there and I am now going to be a regular customer. I am so glad the other donut shop was rude! I would have stupidly continued to give them my money. I spend a fair amount of $ on donuts. What can I say? When it comes to donuts I'm like the rat off of Charlotte's web at the fair.🤷♀️ Now, I don't know that I can pinpoint a favorite donut at Lamar's because I haven't sampled them all. It is however my intention to give each and every donut the respect it deserves by sampling them. Have I mentioned that Lamar's donuts aren't dry like dunkin donuts are? I have tried the chocolate cake donut. Excellent. Pineapple cake donut. It is good. It's not overwhelming. It has a good balance of Pineapple flavor. The cherry donut was very good. My grandkids have given the sprinkle donuts a thumbs up which is impressive because they are tough critics. However, there is one donut 🍩 that is extraordinary and makes my carb calorie loving heart happy because it is the best damn donut I have ever eaten and it's the...... Nah.....can't tell you because then everyone would want it and I'd have to fight for my favorite donut. Let's just say if you're a fall person you'll love this donut so much you won't have to drive almost 2hrs away to a certain town in kansas to get one like it. Love Lamar's! They really are the best and the staff is so...
