Okay, I came in earlier in the week and the food display not only looked rather lacking BUT was swarming with a MASS AMOUNT of fruit flies!! It honestly was the most unappealing thing I have ever seen at a Starbucks. Coming from NY/NJ area this is far from what meets my expectations. I did say something to the cashier woman working about it and she said that none of the food in the display gets served (which Im fully aware of but does not making it look appetizing one bit) but also said they are having trouble getting rid of it and they clean it once a week? I wasn't too keen on that answer but still placed my order as I was dying for caffeine late at night cos I still had some extra work to do. I went to the cup hand off area and waited. While waiting two young male students were being cheeky and vaping in the middle of the store. As a non smoker I was pretty ticked about this and felt that was a blatant disregard to my health while the door is only 10 feet away and they could have stepped outside for a moment. I called corporate and reported both the mass infestation of fruit flies in the display as well as the vape smoking in the coffee shop. Fast forward to today I went in with the corporate reward they gave me to follow up and see if things have been resolved, and grab my mother & I a drink after doing yard work. I notice they did manage to get the display case not only looking cleaner than before but the overall display of bakery goods was on point and looking proper. I noticed the issue of the mass fruit flies was resolved. I went to the counter to place the order for two drinks. I put in the order for the first drink and the barista came over to the cashier and said something to her and looked at me. It was the woman I had said something to about the fruit flies the other night. The staff must have got scolded by management about the situation and unfortunately felt like discriminating me was the next step to getting even about that. When the cashier came back she said sorry and finished taking my order? which really was rude as whatever they talked about was not urgent. When the barista woman that had dealt with me from the fruit fly report got my cups once my order was fulyl placed. She took her hand and COUGH ON HER BARE HAND then proceeded TO WIPE HER HAND ON THE TOP RIM OF MY CUP. This clearly was something she did to discriminate against me for putting in the report about the fruit flies I did made it known it was me cos I addressed the original concern to her. I was not cool with that at all and figured no need to complain and I will just call corporate about the incident cos they can just review the camera footage in the store to validate what I said. This store wasn't so bad when it first opened many years ago, but it has gone down hill super bad. I will not return to this location for Im clearly someone they now discriminate against for putting in a report and I don't think my health should be put on the line. YOU SHOULD NEVER TOUCH THE RIM OF THE CUP WITH YOUR BAREHAND regardless if you cough or not thats not proper food handling etiquette. The girl that did was handling the bar has also been sick since that earlier visit and seems to be getting more sick with her cough not sure why she wasnt doing the register again and put on food/bev duty? That was a bad choice of the management as well. I WILL NEVER RETURN...
Read morevisited this Starbucks location and ordered a grande hazelnut oatmilk shaken espresso a drink that should be smooth, well-mixed, and topped with a light froth. Unfortunately, that’s not what I received.
The first drink I was handed had visible clumps throughout. This is not normal and should never happen. For clarity: oatmilk is a stable, emulsified plant-based milk made from finely ground oats suspended in water, often with added oils and stabilizers to prevent separation. When it clumps, it typically means one of the following: The espresso was too hot and shocked the oatmilk. The drink was not shaken properly, so the oatmilk and espresso didn’t emulsify. Ingredients were added in the wrong order, or not chilled effectively.
Oatmilk is not dairy, so it doesn’t curdle like milk but clumping indicates protein and fiber particles separating due to sudden temperature or acidity changes. It also signals a failure in barista technique, not a fault of the oatmilk itself.
When I pointed out the issue, they did remake the drink, but the second attempt was still incorrect. The espresso had settled entirely at the bottom of the cup, and the drink looked completely separated. It had no froth, no blend, and no indication that it had been shaken at all.
For reference, here is how a Starbucks grande hazelnut oatmilk shaken espresso should be made: • 3 shots of blonde espresso • Ice (about 3/4 full shaker) • 3 pumps of hazelnut syrup • Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds (this chills, froths, and blends the drink) • Pour into a grande cup • Top with oatmilk (around 2–3 oz)
The final drink should be: • Lightly frothy on top • Evenly mixed with no clumps or layers • Visually appealing — not separated
When I expressed my concerns and asked for a refund, the barista responded, “Do you even know how to make this?” I replied, yes I’ve been a barista for many years, and I know exactly how this drink should be prepared and presented. I pointed out that there was a line forming, and at that point, I just wanted a refund rather than prolonging the situation over what should have been a simple drink to make.
This response was unprofessional and unnecessary. Customers shouldn’t be challenged or interrogated for calmly pointing out a poorly made drink, especially when the visual and structural issues are so obvious. That time could have been better spent helping the next customer or simply remaking the drink correctly without an argument.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously. Mistakes happen, but training, professionalism, and product consistency are what set great Starbucks experiences apart from disappointing ones. This interaction missed the mark on all counts. I will no longer be going to...
Read moreThe last 3 times in a row I have been to this location I can tell the coffee is burnt because of how bitter it is. I used to like this location but I feel like they are so busy quality control of the product has suffered tremendously, specifically in the last year. I was excited the sugar cookie almond milk latte was back for the winter, it’s my favorite. Unfortunately, was extremely bitter, no sprinkles and I am positive no sugar cookie syrup was added. Tastes like a burnt regular blonde and unfortunately I can’t drink it because of how bitter it is. I’ve been drinking Starbucks for over years and I know what it is supposed to taste like. I know the roast has changed over time but this is not a difference in the coffee itself, it is clearly burnt. I keep having the hope of “maybe it won’t be bad this time” but unfortunately this point I can’t spend $6 on a coffee I can’t even drink and have...
