Tacoba — Restaurant in Boone

Stopped in this place when I was riding through town looking for fly fishing land and I'll tell you the food was fantastic!!!! The owner (James) was a super friendly guy.

I was going to get chicken and pork tacos as I have never been a fan of barbacoa beef. James talked me into getting the barbacoa as it is one of his specialties and I am so glad he did, I am now back on board the barbacoa beef bandwagon, thank you James! His beans and rice are a spin on his mother's recipe and were great. I was also impressed with both of his salsa options. Most places that offer a mild and hot give you tomato paste and cilantro for mild and habanero crazy heat for the hot salsa, but his salsa added depth, flavor and texture to the food.

I wasn't sure why they did coffee, but after having chips and salsa, 4 tacos, rice and beans I now see why. I was about to take a food nap and they made me a nice espresso and sent me on my way and it brought me back to life. My first time to Tacoba and I will definitely be back. The service was spot On as I sat in the lounge area enjoying the floor to ceiling windows that offered a beautiful day. Great environment to relax and enjoy Your meal. Now let’s get to the food…. Fresh, healthy and delicious. I had the chicken tacos wrapped in their handmade flour tortillas. Food is ok - the combination of a coffee bar and the taco sales means you have to wait a while to order food if they are making an espresso drink - tacos are five bucks and all the fillings are steamed/slow cooked so not grilled - if you order the taco plate for an extra $5 that comes with beans and rice - you get a little sauce cup worth of each - very disappointing experience - they will probably not have many return customers who aren’t middle aged staff from App just looking to be out of the office - and will probably be...
