EGREGIOUS Missed Opportunity!
Since this past summer, I had been wanting to eat at #BarTaco. One afternoon, I entered #BatTaco, and excitedly placed! As I held my mobile up to pay, the cashier told me, "We don't have Apple pay." WONK, WOOOOOOONK! Last night, I perused #BarTaco's menu online and salivated over the items I wanted to try. This evening, I decided today would be the day I was going finally feast on food from #BarTaco! I called my take away order in at 18:28, and brought a different form of payment with me. Upon walking through #BarTaco's door, gracious staff directed me to the pick-up area. Two male staff and one female staff provided me with attentive and courteous service. Impressed, I gladly included a 5.00$ tip to the cost of my take away order. I told the female staff about my first try at purchasing food at #BarTaco, but they did not have phone pay. She exclaimed, "Oh, today is the first day we have phone pay!" She welcomed me, thanked me for ordering food, and gave me a few free taco wooden-like tokens. I expressed my gratitude, and thanked everyone for their assistance with my order. Confidently, I departed #BarTaco thinking that they had provided superb attention to detail service to my order. So assured was I that I did not look into the bag and check my order before leaving like I always do for take away. After arriving home and getting settled, I waited with bated breath opening the #BarTaco bag to serve and feast on the food I had ordered. WONK, WOOOOOOONK!!! My order of plantains was missing. Greatly disappointed and reluctantly, I got dressed and returned to #BarTaco. For the manager to think that removing the plantains charge from my bill and giving me free chips and two free taco tokens were adequate compensation for the visceral disappointment caused by #BarTaco, the disruptive inconvenience of having to return to retrieve my missing plantains, the fact that I placed my order at 18:28 and now it was 19:38 when I returned home a second time, and now my tacos and corn were cold and my guacamole and key lime pie were room temperature are an egregious missed opportunity to gain a loyal patron and everyone I know to #BarTaco! #BarTaco's abject service ruined my first impressions of #BarTaco, and spoiled the taste...
Read moreLet’s face it. Fenway has no good food options. Does that mean that you should settle for bad food? No.
This place is a “fusion” restaraunt meaning they “fused” high prices and caucasian sensibilities with what is supposed to be some sort of mexican food.
For a menu boasting 10$ entrees with 300 calories, you would expect some good sauce and marinade or otherwise flavors to make up the fact that you’ll still be hungry after. Instead, you get disgustingly sweet and sour imitations of what real beach food is like.
You can only order off an app and have to raise your hand like a school child to get assistance. I’m sure everyone involved in this project is a nice person, but I can’t help but see this place for what it is, a shallow attempt at selling whitewashed food to white middle class bostonians who have never left the city to try real food.
Boston in general has awful food, so I guess you can make a point that compared to its neighbors bartaco is “OK”, but it’s really not. It’s just “trendy” dining that tastes bad, and just like anything else in boston you’re better off learning to cook it for yourself.
Seriously, someone send the planners of this restaraunt to the beaches of CA, try some real fish tacos. It’s doubtful they ever have, though. Most of their locations are in landlocked states far far from the border. Fine tuned to serve people who have no point of comparison.
You are supposed to taste the fish, perhaps some coleslaw or greens are there to give texture, and a good sauce can make them divine. Bartaco tries to skimp as much as they can with the fish and replace it with something so tart that I’m glad its only two bites worth of food so i don’t need to...
Read moreThis Review is Long overdue bc I've already been twice. And I Fell In Love. Food and drinks never disappoint. My friend and I come in for the tacos and the warm lobster definitely hit our taste palette.,
I accompanied my tacos with a side of Beans and Lobster with the Mexican street corn. OmG foodgasm😫 it was delicious..I love how the items are shareable despite them being small.
I have to say my second experience was much more fun and memorable thanks to our bartender. He was amazing and fun and not to mention Tequila Educated😂
I'm wondering if his manager is aware how he takes the time to describe each meal, the side items, each and every taco? He's so knowledgeable on the drinks to include all the different types of tequila.
He can basically sell you anything. He reels you in with how tasty each item is 😂. My friend and I could of ordered a dozen tacos the way Connor described each one.
I appreciate that about him, though. It's not easy finding someone at work who loves their job. He's a cool person .. My friend and I are only coming when he's working😂 Thanks Connor for a...
