Saloniki needs to sort out some staffing at this branch… Waited in a line for a few minutes and was served by a man at the cash register who was completely clueless. With a party of four, he completely entered in the wrong order for three of us. He went read over the whole order at the end and we told him it was wrong and he could not understand even slightly that we wanted different things to what he was reading. After about three minutes of trying to fix it we paid for it and went to find the manager who was just behind him the whole time clearly stressed and ignorant. She was doubting that I was telling the truth about my reciept all being incorrect, but eventually she said she could do a refund. It was game night and the game was starting at this point in 35 mins. We mentioned this, at which point she got quite defensive and rude about the fact that food was taking 20-30 mins from the kitchen anyways. I told her that she needs staff to mention how long food is taking, as is standard when a kitchen is backed up. She continued to keep saying about how this is standard waiting time for dinner in the area. That is definitely true for table service restaurants but this is a quick service, fast causal establishment akin to a Shake shack or Chipotle really. Keep in mind the place was only like 30-40% full inside. So we decided to refund it and get food in the stadium. She wouldn’t stop going on about how 20 mins is standard and was very rude, but did manage to refund everything including drinks which we had already mostly drunk by that point. She also lashed out at a delivery driver who had been waiting the entire time we’d been there and asked for an update, at which point she told him, in a very patronizing way, to go stand quietly and patiently in the corner. Like a 3rd grader. Clearly most of the staff are incompetent, and it starts from the top down clearly. I went on a redemption visit to their Harvard sq branch a few days after. So busy, Not a single seat in the place, but the staff were friendly, efficient, and most importantly the food came in the expected 5-10 min window. Go visit one of their other spots for good food. Do...
Read moreSaloniki Greek is honestly an underrated chain in the Boston area. Came on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch, and there was a number of other people around. The space is large and bright, with a variety of seating options for groups of different sizes or individuals just looking for a quick meal.
We ordered at the kiosk, grabbed a number, and the employees were quick to bring out our food when it was ready. I got the Peach Lemonade, Braised Pork Pita, and the two of us split the Greek Doughnuts in Caramel & Pistachio for dessert. The texture of the pita was perfect, and the meat and other fillings blended together nicely. The doughnuts came out fresh, and I really enjoyed the crispy outer texture plus the chewiness of the inside.
Saloniki hasn't always been my first choice among all the food options in the neighborhood, but after giving it another try, I would...
Read moreThe guy running this place is a complete jerk. 21 questions while ringing my order to the delivery driver. Instead of apologizing on the delay to prepare the order that was scheduled to be picked up already. He went back and forth to try and belittle the driver. In the end he just made himself look like a bigger a-hole. Funny as I had to remind them they were the ones to serve me a chicken sandwich that had bones in it. Never again will I order from them. Each and every time they fail to deliver proper customer service and attention. They need to hustle more and focus on the importance of things. Excusing yourselves for cutting corners and making other platforms absorb your disorganization is totally unacceptable. Avoid this and any of their locations at all costs. They seem to be going through an identity crisis...
