Momo The Builder (Jon Simonin)Momo The Builder (Jon Simonin)
Overview: Went here just to get some good food before a concert at the house of blues, but this place will be skipped next time looking for food, quite disappointing. We heard this is a staple if you go to this area, especially with baseball games going on (not when we went); but the food really needs attention. If I was trashed after a baseball game, sure this place wouldn't be bad. Food: The food here, as another reviewer said, looks REALLY FREAKING GOOD; but it's sadly far from it.. It's actually quite lackluster. - We got the onion rings as an appetizer, and while we got a LOT of them, they were absolutely drenched with grease. The board they came on was literally soaked after we ate them; while yes they were good, in fact the best part of the dinner, your stomach will hate you after, it'll feel like you just ate 3 whoppers worth of grease. - I got the pork belly burnt ends and was sadly disappointed. The pork belly was almost exclusively fat. I wish I took a photo from the side view but almost every piece was straight fat, one piece was actually completely fat. I get pork belly is fatty, but really, this fatty? You couldn't cut a more meaty piece and served straight up fat? The barbeque sauce was good though. Served almost room temperature, very sad. - Also came served with random purple vegetables thrown in the corner of the dish, why? What am I supposed to eat this with? It's neither onion, radish, or shallot, what is it? - The mac and cheese was lackluster, and needed to be stirred around to get the flavor, something is definitely missing from it. - The corn bread was straight up cold and hard, like it was left on a shelf and served. - The baked beans were pretty good, though it was more of a soup than anything. Definitely needs more beans and less 'soup'. - My girlfriend got the bbq beef brisket and had almost the same comments about the mac and cheese, and cornbread. The meat was served room temp but absolutely melted in your mouth. Definitely the better menu option. Sweet potato fries were also good, just cold. - For how un-busy this restaurant was, why was all of the food served cold? You'd expect it to be piping hot, especially since the meat is slow cooked for hours - should come out already hot. Service: - The waiter was very persistent on making sure everything was all set and we had water, etc. - The waiter left us a jug of water which was really useful as we drank the whole thing. - Any time it seemed like we needed something he was right there; their service is definitely really good.

This review is for Beaux/beau/bow. Not sure how to spell her name. She was a bartender Sunday (9.5.2021)afternoon and was exceptional. She was attentive and kind and really just a ball of sweetness. We really enjoyed her. If it wasn't for her this would be a 1 star review. The female bartender with star tattoos on her neck and the grown out undercut was terrible. She was asking what goes in drinks and then made me feel stupid because I asked for an Irish Mule and she said it would be a minute because she needed to find the bitters. I asked for a traditional one with no bitters and she argued that all Mules have bitters....nope. There should have been no rude responses and she should not have been giving me attitude when it was clear she had no idea what she was doing. MORE OFTEN THAN NOT Mules do not have bitters. So if your bar does it that way and a guest comes in and asks for it without bitters, don't treat them poorly. I watched her give attitude to a server since we were sitting right at the server station. The server mentioned she didnt have all of her drinks and the rude sloppy bartender snapped at her and then didn't apoligize once she realized she did in fact forget a drink. Drinks are good. Establishment is clean. The bathrooms are nice. The buffalo tender app is super small. So if you don't get dinner I recommend choosing two apps. The dudes at the entrance definitely intimidate you and I felt like they were bouncers to get into the restaurant.

We stopped in here after doing the Fenway Park tour, and it’s definitely a spot built for a party/game-day atmosphere. Since there wasn’t a game on when we visited, things were quieter, which gave us a chance to take it in at a more relaxed pace. Drinks: The mojito was excellent – really fresh and well-balanced. The Guinness was just what you’d expect, poured right and no complaints. Food: We both went with salads. I had one with avocado and bacon, and my fiancé had one with chicken. The ingredients were fresh, but the flavor was a little watered down – still enjoyable, just not as bold as we were hoping for. Service & Atmosphere: The staff was friendly, but service was on the slower side, especially considering the place wasn’t packed. A little more attentiveness would’ve gone a long way. That said, the vibe is cool, and you can tell this place must be electric on game days. Overall: Not a bad experience at all – solid drinks, decent food, and a great location if you’re coming from Fenway. I’d say it’s worth checking out if you want to grab a drink or a bite near the ballpark, especially when there’s a game or event going on.

Please be aware this is being posted after email communication with their general manager who lied and sided with her employees and decided to not pay for my friends broken phone which was thrown into the middle street by a cask n flagon MANAGER.

Sketchy, law breaking bouncers work here. My friends, all girls, got kicked out and were provided no explanation as to why. When they asked why, the bouncer proceeded to put his hands on the them and forcefully remove them from the bar - it is illegal for bouncers to use physical force unless acting in self defense - maybe they were scared of getting beat up by girls??

I got involved because my friends are girls and i wanted to make sure they were okay, as soon as i spoke up i also got kicked out and forcefully pushed towards the door. one of the bouncers claimed to be a manager - disgusting a restaurant would allow that man to use that title. the other was wearing what appeared to be a fake police badge - when we asked for badge number he quickly backed off and refused to provide.

When we were on the street after getting kicked out with no explanation and illegal force, my friend took a picture of the two men who were blatantly overstepping the rights as bouncers. The manager and his bouncer with a fake badge were clearly frustrated and the manager proceeded to grab my friends phone and throw it into the street! My friend was able to find the phone, face down on the middle of Brookline ave, before any cars drove by and completely smashed the phone. However the throw, by the manager of the restaurant, shattered the screen of the phone. recap: 1- bouncers decide to kick out a group of girls 2- girls ask for an explanation and get forcefully removed from the bar 3- i tried to learn what was going on and also got forcefully removed from the bar 4 - bouncer claimed to be manager and was with another man with what appeared to be a fake police badge - he would not provide any badge number. 5- manager threw my friends phone into the street, breaking the screen. place is run by amateurs, go to a different bar if you don't want to be touched and abused...

gonna tell everyone i know to never go here! the bouncers pick and choose who they want to let in. my boyfriend and i went here before a concert and the bouncer outside was super nice, we told him i was 20 so i wouldn’t be drinking but we really wanted food and everywhere else was packed. he just wrote x’s on my hands and it was fine. we decided to go back after the concert because we were hungry and most places around are 21+ so we figured it was a safe option. my boyfriend walks up and is about to go in, but i was a little slower because my feet were absolutely killing me because of the shoes i wore to the concert. i took them off beforehand but put them back on to go inside. i was limping a little because my blisters were huge and so sore. the bouncer looks at me weird and asks why im walking like that. i told him that i have huge blisters and my shoes were half on. he then implies that i was walking like that for a different reason (that i was drunk im assuming) so he asked for my id. i showed him the x’s on my hands and told him im 20 and don’t drink. my boyfriend then comes over and asks what’s going on so i tell him and then the bouncer starts talking about “you don’t understand the words that are coming out of my mouth” “you’re coming to a new establishment without id’s” my boyfriend then pulls out his id and explains that he’s 21 and im 20, hence the x’s on my hands. again we explain my feet were in so much pain and he again says “you don’t understand the words that are coming out of my mouth” which obviously he didn’t have much to say because he couldn’t explain himself. then three more came out of nowhere and told us to leave and tried to intimidate us. so im very curious to know what the problem was there were no issues earlier in the day. what a great bouncer he is, he didn’t even check my boyfriends id as he watched him walk past him. i would love an explanation to this treatment because it would be a shame to escalate...
