Dave's Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Boston

Insanely late to the hype, my wife and I decided to finally try Dave's Hot Chicken. We collectively ordered 3 hot tenders and 1 extra hot slider. We can handle spice so we weren't too worried.

The wait for our order was maybe 5 minutes and everything looked great! The hot was as advertised but the heat didn't last, unlike the extra hot. The extra hot had the same inital heat but lingered after the meal on my lips and throat for a while after the meal, but I ORDERED IT so no complaints.

I see the hype to an extent; the tenders were huge and tasty and the fries were probably the best fries I've had at a restaurant in a long time, fast food or fancy establishment.

My biggest complaint is one that is probably common, the price. For essentially 4 tenders and some fries, we spent a little over $30. If it was $25 or under this would be an easy 5 stars, but I can't justify spending that much for 4 tenders.

Lastly, I asked for water cups and the server said they were out, which may be a joke on customers coming into a spicy chicken establishment trying to get free relief from the spice, but again, I just spent $30 for 4 tenders, I don't want to make it $40 just because we...

on 8.2 Diring the evening I came in and it was busy - my food took extra long and the gentleman expediting gave me 2 cards that said “a slider on us” he signed the back of both and I thanked him! today 8.3 I return because a family member wants something and I order a slider and hand in my card for redemption. a younger gentleman (he said his name was Jerry) looked at the card and told me he didn’t know how to redeem it so i can’t use it. I asked him if there was a manager i could speak with and he said no. I politely asked if there was a senior team bet i could speak with in hope that they could redeem the card - he said no. I asked hi m what should I do and he began to get rude using hange gestures and rolling his eyes stating he dosent know and I need to order or move on! I was both embarrassed and saddened at how I was being treated at a restaurant I frequent often. When I returned to my vehicle to examine the card I noticed this card was dated 2024! The employee yesterday gave me an EXPiRED card! Between the expired card and the poor treatment I recieved and denying me the ability to speak with another team mate I’ve decided stop frequenting...

Being that I was so excited about the Dave's hot chicken opening g on the east coast only because when I had my first experience with this chain its was in Los Angeles California visiting my family. My experience was everything but that. The staff played around In front of customers and used very bad profanity loud enough for the patrons to clearly be able to get a full ear. To add insult to my experience my order was completely ruined caused by lack of paying attention to my order and the special m ones were very clear and I mean very clear about the level of spice that I ordered so after waiting almost 30 minutes to o ly receive some extremely hot 🔥 food that was completely ruined and it was not even edible unfortunately I didn't discover this disaster until I arrived all the way back home in Weymouth MA.
