Only people (3) in here at 8am. Asked for a smoothie. Employee said she didn’t know how to make it so we couldn’t order it. Then asked if the granola had nuts, she said she didn’t know but it comes in the packet and we could look at it. So we said we wanted to look. But then she didn’t want to go get the packet? So to cut the awkwardness we asked to not have the granola added. She said she could do it on the side — why would we even want it nearby after we mentioned it’s a deathly nut allergy? I forcibly had to say that it could not be added or on the side. Not hard at all but clearly there was an issue. Ended up ordering 1 coffee, 1 yogurt, and 1 bagel. It took an HOUR to get all of our items - which is insane for anything but especially for what we ordered, and that it was empty for 10 minutes from when we came in and ordered. She dithered behind the counter for 10 minutes and then someone came in. They got 1 coffee and 1 sandwich. Employee got right to work on her order and she got her order first before us. (It’s good to note that the lady who ordered an sandwich and a coffee was told by the employee, when she ordered, that “she could try to make it” — how do the employees here not know how to make anything?) 2 more people came after that lady got her order (this couple ordered after 15 mins of waiting). We, after over an hour of waiting, asked the girl what the hold up was she said “there’s just a lot of people.” Which, obviously, is not the case. The yogurt cup was dropped on the floor and used - which is not sanitary at all so we couldn’t even have that (coffee wasn’t good either). And I’ve seen how this establishment has responded to less than favorable reviews (being snarky and condescending about “sorry for not being able to hire people for the morning weekend rush” when that was not what the reviewer was saying, the reviewer hadn’t even mentioned the time frame of her visit let alone that that should be the solution specifically) so I know this isn’t going to matter to them. This is for people visiting - which is to say, don’t. Dunkin’ is right across the street - they’re fast, friendly, knowledgeable, cheap, and it always tastes good. We tried the supporting local but should’ve just stuck to what we know works. I never leave reviews but this was beyond.
