I visited the Center Street store on 3/24 at approximately 9pm. Upon entering I noticed the cashier was leaning on the counter with his phone in hand listening to music without headphones. I said “hello, how are you”, but got no reply. He looked up at me, then immediately went back to his phone. When I brought my basket of items to the counter, the employee wasn’t wearing gloves. When I asked him why, he got upset & said “I don’t care” as he walked away to put on a pair, halfway through scanning my items. He spoke a foreign language to the other employee in the deli, who was wearing gloves, but was also on his phone & both started laughing as if it was nothing. I love the sandwiches too, but lately I have been avoiding Marinos (especially the deli area) because a member of the staff who works in the deli does not wear a mask properly, even when he's walking around the store greeting people. I am in a group more vulnerable to COVID risk, so I don't feel comfortable with their blasé attitude toward public health. Maybe after I'm vaccinated...
