I've been to Caffe Nero several times both in Massachusetts and other parts of the world and have had friendly service and a great cup of coffee. However, when I went to Caffe Nero on Newbury Street in Boston I was disappointed from the moment it was my turn to order. Instead of the barista listening carefully to our order she was blabbing away with her co-worker and shift leader. It's alright to converse while working but not if you have no multitasking skills, which this barista did not. I ordered two very simple drinks a caramel latte and a cold brew with vanilla and a splash of heavy whipping cream and she still couldn't do it. I corrected her twice and on the third time making my drink the shift leader finally stepped in to do their job instead of correcting her from the very beginning. The reason she continued to mess up the drink is because she didn't like that I corrected her but when your a paying customer shouldn't you get what your paying for? This was a huge disappointment and I will never be stepping foot into that location again. I will also make sure to spread the word on how unprofessional and messy the stores condition was in that day. If there's three employees working with no line there should be zero excuses for orders being messed up three times in a row, store looking disgusting and unfriendly staff. If Honey Dew Donuts was on that street i'd choose them over Caffe Nero and that...
Read moreThis one star is dedicated to Lily, the Barista. Horrible customer service and attitude. I always come to this location and never have any issues with any of the other staff. Lily consistently seems to have a problem, and while I don’t like writing reviews, her horrible behavior today crossed the line. She had an attitude while making our drinks then she openly talked about my sister and I, in front of us, in a negative attitude. Once my sister asked if everything was okay, she came up to her aggressively to the point where the Manager, Xavier, had to step in between and apologizing for HER actions and behavior towards us. We were nothing but respectful yet she was extremely hostile, intimidating and displaying a violent attitude. Xavier did a great job de-escalating the barista’s attitude but she still was adamant that her attitude was acceptable and did not apologize while Xavier did numerous times on her behalf. Extremely disappointing because this cafe nero location is one we visit...
