I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. After searching for three months and seeing numerous other surgeons (including the last plastic surgeon who did my second rhinoplasty revision), I was convinced no one would take on my case and listen to my story the way I needed it to be heard, let alone agree for me to become their patient. I felt totally disheartened and lost!
In comes the DeRosa Canter as my last and only hope. From the outset, Colleen (the admin) and Meg (who handles patient coordination) were incredibly friendly and welcoming on my first visit. Colleen in particular has been FANTASTIC about fielding multiple calls and questions from me before and post-op (thank you so much Colleen!). Meg is cheerful and explains the billing process very thoroughly, and always made me feel confident about my choice to work with the DeRosa Center. I was also able to get my preferred surgical date without incident, which meant a lot considering I am a stay-at-home mom with three kids under 9 years old!
And what can I say about Dr. DeRosa - she is a DREAM. She is bubbly, attentive, smart, and such an incredible listener. She let me spend a half hour explaining my previous procedures, where I was unhappy with them, and how I wanted to move forward reconstructing my nose after my son had broken it during playtime over the summer. She MORE than met my expectations. She understood that this procedure was more than just fixing a broken nose, but giving to me the nose I had always wanted as a teenager, and I'm nearing 40 today. She showed me pictures of potential outcomes, and I was thrilled! I booked surgery that same day.
The day of surgery I met Dr. DeRosa's husband, who also happens to be her anesthesiologist! He has a lovely calming presence that is especially essential right before surgery. It was a special twist to know that the practice was in essence “family run.”
Post-op, the NP Nicole took off my cast and showed me my results, and I was stunned! My nose was perfectly straight again, without divots from being broken, and on top of that, was much smaller and looked SO appropriate for my face. I was THRILLED. I opted to also do some post-op Botox with Nicole right on the spot, which I must say was an added plus - she is a great listener and a very skilled technician. Botox isn’t something to play with, and she did a fantastic job. (Thanks Nicole! I can’t wait to come back!)
Overall, I just can’t thank all of the DeRosa team enough for giving me my life back (really and truly). I've waited so long to see the face I've had in my mind’s eye become reality, and this group of people achieved it for me. I would recommend the DeRosa Center for ANYBODY, be it for a surgical procedure or even modest med spa tweaks. I love this group of people!!! From the bottom of my heart, thank...
Read moreI got a rhinoplasty from Dr DeRosa on March 1, 2021. All I wanted was my profile straightened and to look "softer." She operated and straightened my side profile and we did not choose to do anything else to my nose. When the cast came off, and I was able to touch and examine my face, I noticed there was a small but noticeable bump on the right side of my bridge. At my first follow up, she told me to do these pressing exercises to combat swelling and I did them very diligently. However, no amount of little exercises did anything to settle this bump. I visited Dr DeRosa maybe 4-5 times over the course of the next two years, and she was a bit flippant about this bump, even though I was concerned. She kept telling me how great it looked, and while I tried to focus on just the side profile, and not the fact that I now looked uneven from the front, I was very upset and disappointed about my nose. She told me the bump was probably cartilage and that she would be able to do a needle scraping procedure. I scheduled the procedure for April 2023 and then canceled it the day before. I canceled because I consulted three other plastic surgeons who all agree that the bump is not cartilage, it is bone. It is of utmost importance to note that they each mentioned the bump is the result of an unnecessarily aggressive surgery. I will absolutely have to have a revision in order to fix this; there is no alternative simple solution. There was also a review where another patient had the same issue and decided to do the needling procedure. She said it was painful and it did absolutely nothing to fix the issue. That really solidified my decision to not do it. It's not that I don't understand that there are risks to every surgery and that every surgery is a gamble; however, this seems like it was completely avoidable and I really think she should have at the very least acknowledged that this is not the way it should have turned out. She didn't even take "after" pictures of me and now I understand why. She is not proud of the work. I am a full time bartender and the other night I had to cut off a few intoxicated customers. One of the women decided to personally insult me and told me I "need to get a nose job." This was extremely hurtful because not only have I already had a nose job, I have always been self conscious about my nose and I thought the surgery would help. I thought I would be able to accept this after 4 years, but the surgery hasn't done anything to make me feel more confident and I continue to be self conscious in daily life. I actually hate pictures of myself now, where I used to like seeing my face from the front. I paid over $10k for this surgery and it should have been done with excellence; I'm not looking for perfection. I will never be returning for any sort...
Read moreUPDATE: The business responded to my review, but did not actually want to talk. Just wanted to make herself look like she cared to hear about how she butchered my nose. She never returned my call. REVIEW: In December of 2021 I had revision rhinoplasty strictly for aesthetic purposes, and Dr. DeRosa severely botched my nose. She put a ridiculous amount of cartilage grafts all over the place, my nose was crooked/I had two different profiles, and it hooked to one side. I also developed a deviated septum, nasal valve stenosis, swollen turbinates, massive amounts of pain in the bridge of my nose, and the tip of my nose grew numb. I had NONE of the aforementioned issues prior to surgery other than the hook (and it was slight compared to what Dr. DeRosa turned it into). I was miserable because of the way my nose looked and the pain was unbearable. I told her I needed all the grafts she put in my nose taken out, as I was sure this is why I was enduring such pain. Dr. DeRosa told me if she took them out, my nose would likely collapse. For an entire year, Dr. DeRosa gaslit me into believing my nose looked so bad because it was swollen. As the swelling went down, my nose just looked worse and worse and the pain got worse and worse. In February 2022, I ended up having another surgery with Dr. Lee at Tufts so he could correct some of the issues. He took out the grafts. On the day I went in for my follow up (post surgery) with Dr. Lee, his nurse asked me how I was feeling. I told her the pain was virtually gone, and she said “I bet! You had so much plastic in your nose!” Dr. Lee confirmed what the nurse said and even added “The piece at the tip was REALLY sharp so you should regain feeling in that area.” It is now July of 2024, and my nose, though pain free for the most part at the bridge and less numb at the tip, looks worse than it did prior to Dr. DeRosa laying her hands on my face. I did a lot of research prior to choosing Dr. DeRosa, and I clearly made the wrong choice. If you want to get a revision rhinoplasty, I would highly suggest staying far away from Dr. DeRosa so you don’t end up with a deformed nose...
