If you’re searching for a dining experience that ignites your taste buds while keeping your dietary needs in mind, look no further than Fire + Ice in Boston. This vibrant eatery offers a unique twist on the classic Mongolian BBQ, and from the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that sets the stage for an unforgettable meal.

As I entered Fire + Ice, the first thing that struck me was the lively energy of the restaurant. The open kitchen buzzed with activity, and the tantalizing aromas wafting through the air promised a feast for the senses. The layout is cool and interactive, with a wide selection of fresh ingredients laid out like a colorful canvas just waiting for you to create your masterpiece. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience where you become the chef.

Now, let’s talk about the heart of Fire + Ice—the stir fry! After carefully selecting an array of fresh vegetables, meats, and sauces, I watched as the grill master transformed my chosen ingredients into a sizzling stir fry right before my eyes. The flavors were incredible! The savory notes of the marinated beef mingled perfectly with the crispness of the bell peppers and the sweetness of the pineapple. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Just a tip: make sure to use the little cups for your sauces instead of pouring them directly onto the grill; this preserves the integrity of each ingredient and enhances the overall flavor.

What truly sets Fire + Ice apart, though, is the welcoming nature of the staff. From the moment I walked in, I felt like a valued guest rather than just another customer. They were attentive without being overbearing, always checking in to ensure everything was just right. One memorable moment was when the waiter inquired about food allergies. As someone with a serious seafood allergy, I was pleasantly surprised when they handed me a special card to give to the grill master. They took my food to a separate grill, ensuring my meal was safe and free from cross-contamination. This thoughtful attention to detail is a testament to their commitment to customer care.

One quirky aspect was the repeated inquiries about whether we had a reservation. It seemed a bit odd, especially since we didn’t see any indication online that reservations were necessary, but it’s clearly a sign of just how popular this place can get. If you plan on visiting, calling ahead might save you some worry, especially during busy times.

In conclusion, if you find yourself in Boston—preferably not on St. Patrick's Day when the crowds are crazy—Fire + Ice is an excellent choice for families, couples, or anyone looking to indulge in a culinary adventure. With its fresh ingredients, interactive grill format, and a team that genuinely cares about your dining experience, it offers great value for your money. Don’t miss out on this gem; it’s a place where you can let your taste buds run wild while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of one of Boston’s coolest...

Our server was awesome. She was a pleasure to have. The manager was also very helpful. He was cooking the food and helping out whenever he could. The mistakes of the rest of the team were pretty disappointing. First off they took my food and combined it with someone else's food. This left me with less than half of what I put in my bowl and the only response I got from the guy cooking was "sorry". Instead of correcting the problem he ignored the fact and gave me the smaller food. I went to get more of what I originally had and this other cook told me to move outta the way when I tried to explain to him that something was done wrong he ignored me. I had to put the food that was cooked back at my table, then wait in line again to get more food and come back and wait a long time for everything to cook.

By the time I got back to my table 10 mins had past and everything was cold. Not to mention the bowls they give you to put your food in are so tiny now. It's a joke. A regular dog bowl can fit more food in it than what they offer. They have the audacity to charge $25 per person to fill a bowl that can't even fill the plate they pour the food on. Yes you can go up and get more food, but the portions are crazy small and they say you can only have one bowl at a time. So basically I have to get half of what I want cooked, brought back to my table and then have to wait again for my food to be cooked so the rest can sit and get cold. This place honestly is a rip off. Years ago the plates were bigger, now they're even more expensive and they are trying to skimp on the amount you can take.

This place had a great idea and instead of keeping things the way they were they are falling into the trap of increasing prices while taking away more. Pretty much participating in shrinkflation. Don't go here. Just go to any other hibachi restaurant. This place is now a tourist gimmick to take your money and offer the illusion that you are getting more, but in reality are getting a lot less. AVOID...

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the experience my family and I had during our recent visit to your restaurant.

We have been loyal customers of Fire and Ice for quite some time, and until now, we have always enjoyed your food and atmosphere. Unfortunately, this last visit left us with a very negative impression due to the way we were treated and charged.

First and foremost, my handicapped daughter, who is medically unable to eat, was still charged as an adult—a charge that is not only unreasonable, but also deeply insensitive to her condition. Additionally, my 11-year-old daughter was also charged as an adult, despite clearly being underage.

When I attempted to respectfully explain the situation to our server, especially regarding the ages of my children and the circumstances of our party, he responded with rudeness and hostility, repeatedly arguing with me and questioning the ages of my children as if I were being dishonest. This behavior was entirely uncalled for and made an already frustrating situation even worse.

To make matters worse, an 18% gratuity was automatically added to our bill without any prior notice or clear signage explaining this policy. At no point during our seating or ordering were we informed of this charge, which I find both unprofessional and misleading.

As a returning customer, I have never been treated this way at your establishment before, and I left feeling disrespected, frustrated, and disappointed. This experience has truly left a bad taste in my mouth, and it is very unfortunate to feel so let down by a place I once enjoyed.

I sincerely hope that you will review this matter and consider better training for your staff regarding sensitivity, communication, and customer service. I also ask that your policies regarding charges—especially for gratuity and age-based pricing—be clearly communicated up front and handled with empathy...

The best way to describe this concept is like a buffet in reverse. You walk up fill your bowl with raw products and bring it to the giant circled grill to be cooked. You walk the line with a bowl and you fill that bowl with any raw ingredients you want. From vegetables to few variety of pasta types. Various Protein choices to choose from ( steak, different types of marinated chicken, seafood that included salmon, swordfish, tilapia, shrimp, clams and scallops ) you chose the pieces you want some are cut smaller than others. Sauce bar has various sauces and topping you add in a side bowl. Then you bring up your products where a team of three cooks going circle and cook your meal for you. Once done they place it on the plate and you go back to your table and enjoy. You can go up as many times as you want to get your ingredients and have them cooked. They do have a salad bar as well. The staff did a nice job keeping the counters clean and utensils in the right product. It’s always difficult when you have general public creating cross contamination by not applying common sense with utensils even tho each dish had their own but the staff was on top of it that day. With all that being said we had a great experience. Food was great and service was excellent. Waitress did a nice job explaining the concept to us first timers and was not over the top attentive, was just right. We ordered calamari as appetizer and it was great and fresh. I thought they were reasonably priced and would definitely recommend and visit this restaurant again in the future.

If I don't know what to have to eat when I'm around Downtown or the Common, Fire + Ice is the perfect spot! This restaurant is very unique and it can stand out among any others around the area. The atmosphere is modern with a handful of signs that make it seem like a chain but those signs are helpful! The signs have food options and how to make them along with where what food is at the bar. The dining room kind of feels like an IHOP or a TGI Fridays. The design flow for the food is alright. The protein, starches, and everything else are not in order of what you would think so it gets confusing when setting up your bowl. When bringing the food up to the cooks it's always a great and fun experience, unless it's brunch time and the cooks are not as animated. The cooks will scoot you down the counter if too far away. This is helpful but there should be directions for customers. The food they cook is usually good and cooked all the way through. The service for the tables was okay. The server was friendly but didn't check in too often or ask if we needed more beverages. They seemed not to want to talk to us but they wanted to upsell us on other drinks. The host sat a huge party tucked in the corner and it made that party and mine kind of uncomfortable. The waiting staff seemed to like to chat with each other more than help customers, which is understandable but don't do it on the floor. Overall great staple in Boston. Perfect for people who don't know what they want or know exactly. A great price for a buffet-style restaurant.
