Rude, insulting and condescending service. Rather than rewrite everything, I am simply pasting a copy of the letter I sent to Pizzeria Regina directly. Enough Said:
My friend and I visited your Fenway location Saturday May 20th around 630pm prior to going to a concert. We were looking for a quick bite to eat, and have heard rave reviews on your pizza. We ordered a slice of Hawaiian to share for a pre-concert snack.
The girl we ordered from was very cheery and helpful. However, when we got our slice and tried it, the dough was very crisp on the bottom, however the rest of it was EXTREMELY raw. It was gummy and yeasty and very unappealing. It was almost like it was frozen when it went into the oven and only the bottom, where it was in contact with the pan was cooked.
We understand that these things happen and we weren't angry or upset. To help paint a picture, we are both 40 year old career professionals. I am an engineer and she is a regional sales manager for telecommunications products and we were dressed accordingly. My friend approached the counter and brought the raw dough to the attention of the staff very politely. They referred her to a woman we assumed was the manager. This is where the story goes horribly wrong.
The manager, a mid twenties brunette woman, immediately became defensive. She told us that was how your pizza was and what you were famous for. She looked at my friend like she was trying to scam a free piece of pizza and overall made my friend feel bullied and talked down to. Eventually, after defending the raw dough for over 5 minutes, the manager agreed to give us a new slice, though balked when we asked for greek instead of Hawaiian. She finally agreed to give us a slice of greek, however she made it very well known that it was a HUGE imposition on her.
This is the only email I have ever written regarding poor service at a restaurant. I'm not asking for anything other than what my friend wanted Saturday night: an acknowledgement and an apology. Instead, she was subjected to a condescending lecture about all of the reasons why she was acting unreasonably. We were polite and understanding and gave your restaurant every opportunity to remedy the situation. If the restaurant had handled it properly, I'd be writing to tell you how impressed I was with your service. Instead your manager was argumentative, aggressive and unaccommodating and cast a negative pallor on our...
Read moreThis review is NOT about the Pizza. The pizza is standard american style pizza with no specialties but overpriced.
This review is about the way they treat their customers. It was my 1st time visit Regina after they were voted on tripadvisor for the best pizzeria in the U.S. I didn´t pay much attention to the menu since I was gonna to order two slices and I trusted them. So I ordered one gourmet and one single topping (I didn't know at that time). When I went to the counter, the girl asked what kind of pizza I ordered, I told her that I wasn´t sure. She said okay and immediately pushed some button and it showed $9.10 for two slices. Then I asked her how was that possible. They have a meal of two gourmet slices plus a soda for $8.90 and she asked for $9.10 for two slices she wasn´t sure. So she went back to check with her coworker. Then she modified it to $8.50. I thought that since it is only 40 cents in different, then I ordered the meal of two gourmet slices. Later while I was eating, I took a look at the menu board and notice that the price for 1 topping is $3.95 and $4.25 for gourmet. Since I order one slice of 1 topping and one slice of gourmet, the price should be $8.20 instead of $8.50. [All prices are listed as before tax].
Business is business, I felt that the staffs there just tried to fool me and charge me for being a new customer who is not familiar with the price. Not even mention that they gave me the least covered slice in the remainings. This is the last time for me...

Well to start I have been visiting Regina Pizza in the North End for about 50 years!!! As a matter of fact my Grandparents lived on Salem Street and I would visit often. I have been there through three generations. You can only imagine how the North End has changed since then. As a full blooded Italian I could take comfort in knowing that there were still certain establishments in the North End that continued its tradition. Modern Pastry, Mikes, The Cantina , Bovi's , Mamma Maria, and Daily Catch to name a few. For many years Regina topped the list a true landmark. The Regina Pizzeria used to be a hallmark but has been spoiled like a bad piece of fish. It STINKS !
I recently visited and waited in a long line . I was alone as my friend's flight was delayed. As I got to the front of the line I noticed that there were two tables being cleared and the Bar area was full. The owner asked how many ? I said just me. He replied you'll have to wait for the Bar unless you buy a whole pizza. The wait at the bar was obviously long maybe another hour. Wow, I thought greed has infiltrated this joint. The days that they made you feel at home are long gone. Just another tourist - As my grandmother would say "They can go Scrub" . I wish I could post what my...
