Tatte Bakery & Cafe | Copley Square — Restaurant in Boston

As someone who lives in the DMV and goes to numerous locations of Tatte on regular occasions, I feel qualified to write the following review.

This place is a mess. It's grossly understaffed and everyone is unsatisfied, from the patrons to the baristas, to the manager, all of which I observed while I was sitting at the bar.

I ordered an oat milk cortado and breakfast (which was very tasty, as always), but my drink ended up being an oat milk cappuccino and I only discovered this after I had finished eating. I accepted it as I could see the resentment in the faces of the barista I talked to, when it was the cashier's fault for the wrong order.

There was not a single clean utensil (aside from some knives) to be found in this entire restaurant, aside from cheap plastic utensils that would barely cut my potatoes. There was no water for at least 10 minutes until someone finally filled the two containers closest to me.

Multiple patrons complained to the baristas about missing or incorrect drink orders.

I overhead just how unhappy the baristas were from my vantage point about 5 feet from them. Ryan - the manager - (I think that's his name) needs to step up his game and hire some more staff. This place obviously has the demand and the service NEEDS...

Absolutely loved this place. I got a roasted beets, blueberry and whipped ricotta salad, it was absolutely delicious. This was a new flavor combination for me and I never would have expected these flavors to go together but I would definitely have that salad again. I believe my salad was about $16-18 which I thought was very reasonable. Also pictured is a ham and leek quiche which of course was absolutely delicious. I think the quiche cost about $12-13. The wait staff was all super nice, the atmosphere was open and light and inviting. Very well decorated and just an overall excellent dining experience, very comfortable setting. They had a huge variety of pastries that you can buy that all looked out of this world and flavor combinations that I've never seen before, very unique. If you're somebody who wants to try something different I would go there, you're guaranteed to find something you've never had...

As good as the food and ambiance are I’ll have to start going to another location or cutting them off. Their customer service is non existent. The older gentleman with the glasses and mustache that manages this location is seemingly the only person willing to help me whether my order is late, missing parts of it, or for some reason not In a bag with pieces even though it’s 3-4 times. Even after coming on a daily basis for weeks at a time the staff can never bother to do my Correctly or in a timely fashion and often have an attitude when I ask them to correct this. Even today, all is ordered was a damn OATMEAL and tea and nobody bothered to put a spoon in the bag. I really shouldn’t have to worry about these minor details for a TO GO order.
