Is There Bubble Tea in Boston?

Is There Bubble Tea in Boston?

Tea Do is one of my go-to bubble tea places. It's in the middle of Chinatown, short walk from Downtown. They have bubble tea, sodas, and other various drinks, all in many different flavors. All the standard add-ins, such as boba and aloe vera. The boba are always cooked well, nice and gummy. Never too hard or too soft. The perfect amount is always sitting on the bottom of your bubble tea -- you'll run out of boba at the same time you run out of tea. My favorites are the Thai Milk Tea (the classic, orange tea at most Thai places), and the Taro Milk Tea. If it's your first time drinking bubble tea, I'd go for either the Thai Milk Tea, or something simpler like the Black Milk Tea. It's a small bar sort of place with a few tables. If you go during the busy times of the day (around 2pm in my experience), it would be hard to get a table. Most people just get their drink and head out. One annoyance, they now have a credit card minimum. It forces you to get two things if you only have a credit card. There are many other bubble tea places within walking distance that don't have credit card minimums, so they may start to lose business. For this, I need to take a star away from my rating.

This was THE hangout spot back in high school. Even now, it is mostly crowded with students. I didn’t realize it was a chain until I came across one in Philly one time. This location is quite small being in Chinatown. There are some low tables by the entrance, and the rest are high tops. They have games for you to play such as Jenga and Uno. I like the black, taro, and Thai milk teas, Thai coconut smoothie, and Pink Lady. The boba isn’t very sweet here, so I prefer KFT’s boba, as it’s hard to beat when it’s fresh. The takoyaki and onigiri are also good, but they have gone up in price. Wait times can be long when it is busy. They also do catering.

Extremely disappointed in the service today. I've been coming here since they first opened. The cashier/s they had in the beginning were always so cheerful and energetic. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the current one/s.

I decided to drop by before work today to grab a couple of their Japanese snacks. I came in around 2:35, put my order for a spam onigiri and a takoyaki at around 2:40. I waited about 15 mins before I spoke up, because it shouldn't have taken that long for two things. I asked the cashier how much longer it would be. She told me she didn't know. It's 2:55 and my order is still not ready. So I asked if I could just get my money back and be on my merry little way as I had to get to work by 3.

The cashier asked her coworker and the coworker told me that they had already started making it. So I guess I couldn't get $6.50 back because they "already started making it"? Excuse me, but I thought if a customer requests for THEIR money back, the establishment should at the very least try to accommodate. Trust me when I say they weren't very friendly or accommodating.

I waited almost another 10 mins before my order was done. I mean really? I waited almost 30 mins for two simple orders! That's unacceptable.

I tell my coworkers and friends to come here all the time. I come here all the time! But after today's shenanigans, I will be warning them to stay away. Their customer service, or should I say the lack thereof, left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

Management you need to step up. Some of your employees need to be retrained in customer service 101. A simple thank you, smile or even an apology would have upped their customer service level. But those words/action were practically nonexistent today.

I would like to give Teado another chance. We have such a long history together and I'd be crush if I said good bye now due to one bad experience. Did I mention they have good drinks and food also? Hopefully when I do return, management...

I came here to grab some bubble tea, and I asked whether they use syrup for all their fruit drinks and I was told they do. They significantly limited what I could order, and I originally decided on the black milk tea, which she told me was popular, and I got it with grass jelly. But afterward, I decided to actually get matcha milk tea with red bean without sugar and no ice, and she basically crossed out my entire order. Oops! Wreaked a bit of havoc. I also asked for the top to not be sealed (because I have my own metal straw which doesn't go through the plastic well). Anyway, the matcha milk tea with red bean was just okay; it didn't really taste like matcha very much, but the red bean was good, chewy and not too sweet. My large drink was about $5 post-tax which is pretty fair. The music is really loud though so it's difficult to talk to people, and the wifi definitely does not work. I tried the password on both my phone and my laptop, and neither took the password. Boo! There's plenty of seating and it wasn't too crowded late afternoon on a Sunday, but I wouldn't choose...
