🗺️One-Day Trip to Boston: A Perfect Blend of History and Cuisine

I was at this restaurant during the late quarantine time when things were pretty much opening up and also many restaurants opened up that time including this. It was recommended to me, honestly, by my uber driver and she was so ecstatic while recommending. So, I thought of giving a shot. The decor is good and impressive- spacious with lots of sitting arrangements, good smell and a calming atmosphere. Good for family eating outs or with friends or colleagues. There are few points that I would like to make for new goers: 1. Do not go by the menu. You might think that the menu is saying this n that. However, it’s not kinda thing that we draw in our mind. For instance, flat rice noodles doesn’t mean that it would be superbly long and non-sticky noodles. It’s far far different from that. I’m not sure, may be, that’s what the authentic Chinese flat noodles is. I’ve attached some photos for reference. 2. It’s pricy!! I don’t have any problem in paying more if the food is good and satisfactory to my eyes. However, in this case, neither it was satisfactory nor worth the money. Also, they charged for just normal water. 3. Authentic Chinese cuisine is different from the Indo-Chinese and American Chinese one and I’m glad that I’ve had all of them tasted. I love authentic Chinese cuisine. If not all, but definitely some. Albeit this place offers some authentic ones, however I would not go again just to eat some authentic Chinese cuisine again. I would be delighted to go somewhere else for authentic ones.

All of this with tax and tip was $30 which I thought was quite pricey for dim sums…so definitely bring 2-3 people to split dim sums with I liked the shui mai the best, it was plump and juicy and filled with bunch of shrimps and pork filling. Would definitely get that again. It was also the biggest shui mai I ever seen too. The chicken feet was objectively good too. I think it was at least 10 chicken feet for $9 which wasn’t too bad? I don’t know it was my first time trying chicken feet The thousand-year egg congee is the one I have issues with because it left such bitter taste in my mouth like so gross. Also the congee itself didn’t look quite clean and freshly made so I ended up eating only half of it. Also there is $1.50 dimsum charge that’s automatically added to your bill and I think that covers the tea. But the restrooms are super clean and the remodeled place is very spacious and nice so I would give this place another try but make sure to bring 2-3 ppl and avoid congee and order other stuff instead

This review only pertains to my experiences with their Dim Sum menu

While not my preferred place to go for Dim Sum, this place is growing on me. Their pork buns are delicious and are, perhaps, the perfect size. Not too big but not to small either. The rice dish that is tucked within a lotus leaf is also quite good, though China Pearl's features some king of meat within it, something I found odd since I always thought this was a vegetarian dish. A friend who has grown up on Dim Sum and acted as my group's culinary navigator confirmed that it doesn't usually have meat inside but can on occasion. Other things that my group of six ordered: shrimp dumplings, those long, flat noodles, sticky rice, pork dumplings (you can tell I'm a Dim sum expert), and those delicious sesame balls for dessert. They do have a buffet bar with other things but I've never ventured over there so I cannot stay what they have/don't have.

I will say that this place can be super crowded, especially if you are thinking about visiting on the weekend. Plan ahead; you might have to wait up to a half hour to be seated, though those tables do turner over fast. Also, waiters can be hit or miss. Same for the carts. You could be waiting fifteen minutes for the right cart to come by only to have it run out of food (again) before it reaches your table.

Despite the cons, this place is great, especially if you are new to Dim Sum or introducing it to your friends. One final thing: don't come here if you are a vegetarian. One of my friends is and she could only eat maybe two dishes, both of which our Dim Sum navigator had to find for her. If you love meat...

Back at my old stomping grounds for dim sum. Been a loyalist for years and glad that China Pearl is back better than ever. Going on Sunday afternoons has been a ritual.

First of all, Sunday is probably their busiest day. My visit 2 Sundays ago was no different. I brought 2 people with me that have never had dim sum before. Our waiter (Larry, I think ) was terrific. Attentive and humorous best describes our experience with him. He patiently explained the dim sum routine to my guests. The fact that he spoke perfect English was a bonus!

The weekend cart service was prompt. Food was steaming hot and fresh. My go to items are shrimp dumplings, because they are loaded with shrimp that are seasoned perfectly. Shu mai is my other must have. Juicy and packed with flavor best describes this shrimp and pork piece of heaven. Rice noodle rolls and fried salty dumplings are amazing too. From the kitchen, we ordered salt fish and chicken fried rice. Was sad that baby bok choy was not available, but the pea pod stems were cooked to perfection. I will add that portions are big!!

As far as atmosphere, I love the sleek and modern look. The place is clean, bright, and can get pretty loud on a Sunday. One final note.. I can say with much certainty that they have the...
