Five Guys — Restaurant in Boulder

Theres always an arguement to be had on which place has the best burger. When ever I factor someone as potentially being the best it's more then just great tasting food, its service, it's the comfort of the place and the ease of accessing. I will say it can be hard to access, especially on a busy day. The place has a good vibe and they offer free peanuts, yum. But the main reason I'm writing this is because of the service I received today. First off I was one of those customers who had a declined transaction but had money on the card, they were very patient with me in figuring out my issues with my card. Eventually I had to give them part cash part card, I had only $5 left to charge but my card still was being declined. As I was getting flustered and embarrassed at my issues with my card the manager came over and saw I had paid all but $5(it was a $30 transaction) he pushed through the order and told me not to worry about it. I felt so embarrassed but also was so thankful he did that, luckily my partner just arrived for lunch and gave me money to pay the remainder but the manager had said not to worry about it so I tipped the staff $10. Since it’s just another chain, I’m going to review the service. Obviously worth he rating I have given, I’d say they were great! Sometimes it’s nice to just find a greasy joint to visit while in Boulder. I was tired of all the vegan restaurants and wanted something unhealthy for the day.

The guys here were very friendly. I ordered a regular hamburger and the regular fries. There’s malt vinegar off to the side for the condiments. My burger was made medium and was still juicy. The restaurant was kept tidy. Just felt bad for them, right after they wiped everything down, a lazy individual was getting ketchup and didn’t bother placing the cup properly underneath the spout. She kept pushing the handle down and 1/4 of the ketchup made it into the cup and the other 3/4 on to the counter. She continued doing this until the cup was full. Didn’t bother to clean her mess up and one of the Five Guys employee came over to clean it up immediately (with no anger).

This place is exactly what it sells itself as. Do you want a greasy (in the best sense of the word), well-built, and juicy burger with many toppings, and just the right amount of sauce and bun? This burger doesn't work as well if you don't eat it fresh (even 30 minutes is enough to let the bun disintegrate), but if you can stick around and eat it there, you won't regret it. I haven't found a better burger under $10 anywhere in Colorado. Unpretentious and friendly staff, simple menu offerings that seem to deliver great value (no charge for extra toppings?!), coming here is always a highlight.

I don't usually go for one because of how satisfying the burger alone is, but if you're extra hungry, go for a shake. I always get Oreo and bacon blended into it (you can ask them to add any of the burger toppings to the shake) and I have always been so happy with...
