While a visit to Kura Sushi can be a fun and unique dining experience, it can also be a little hit or miss. The restaurant's conveyor belt system is a novelty that's worth trying at least once, but the quality of the sushi itself is just okay. It's not a place to go for an exquisite sushi meal, but rather a spot for a quick and fun bite with friends or family.
Kura offers a wide variety of sushi, ranging from traditional nigiri to more modern rolls. While the constant rotation of plates on the conveyor belt is a fun way to try a lot of different things, the quality of the sushi can be inconsistent. The miso salmon is a standout, with a rich flavor and delicate texture, but other items fall short. The scallop can sometimes lack that fresh, sweet taste you'd expect, and the ikura (salmon roe) is often just average, lacking the pop and briny flavor of higher-quality roe. While some of the rolls are tasty, the rice can be a little mushy, which detracts from the overall experience.
To avoid a long wait, it's highly recommended that you make a reservation online, especially on weekends. The restaurant is often packed, and the wait can be over an hour without a reservation. Once you're seated, the dining experience is largely self-service, with plates being picked directly from the conveyor belt. However, when you do need assistance, the service can be a little slow. For example, drink refills can be forgotten, and a server might not check back on you. This can make the meal feel a little less enjoyable.
Overall, Kura is a fun and affordable place to try out a unique dining concept. It’s a great spot to bring kids or go for a casual meal, but if you're looking for top-notch sushi, you might want to consider...

If you haven’t been to Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, run, don’t walk! This place is hands down one of the most fun and delicious dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.
From the moment we sat down, everything was seamless and exciting. The revolving sushi system is not just convenient, it’s genuinely fun! And the quality? Absolutely top-tier. Every single piece we tried from the classic tuna nigiri to the shrimp topped with citrusy garnishes was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared.
We did have one small hiccup where one of our sushi plates had something on it that shouldn’t have been there. But honestly? The way the staff handled it turned it into a positive experience. They immediately apologized, removed the item from our bill, and went straight to check with the chef. Moments later, our server kindly returned to clarify that it was not a hair, just a natural fiber from one of the ingredients. That kind of transparency, care, and quick response showed us how seriously they take food quality and customer trust.
The service overall was just on another level always kind, incredibly attentive, and truly professional. It’s the kind of care and hospitality that’s rare to find these days.
And yes… we stacked up a lot of plates, and we don’t regret a single one. 😄
Whether you’re a sushi lover or just looking for a unique and satisfying dining experience, Kura is a must visit. We’ll absolutely...
Read moreThis was my first ever Revolving Sushi experience and it was amazing! I researched about this place prior and I recommend downloading the Kura app and placing a reservation. There is also a point system in place which is super cool.
My favorite plate was the yuzu jalapeño sweet shrimp. Loved the texture and taste!! I think I grabbed like 7 plates of that…my boyfriend’s favorite was the Salmon Toro. It melted in our mouths and was fattyyyyy yummm! We ate a total of 28 plates between the two of us, I don’t know if that’s normal or we just big backs LOL.
Ordering system was simple and easy. You can collect food items on the main conveyor belt or you can order from the tablet and it gets delivered to you on the upper conveyor belt FAST! I was delivered the wrong plates but the servers were quick to fix things for us! It was addicting to take plates from the conveyor belt and I loved that when you added in 15, 25 plates, etc. to the slot, you got a little keychain that drops from a little machine. It also plays a little animation video on the tablet after adding 5 plates or more? I forgot haha!
Don’t know if prices will change but it was $3.90 for each plate when we went. Price is a little bit more for special plates and desserts.
I would highly recommend coming here if you get the chance. I drove 1 hr and would do it again. I definitely will come here for an after hike meal since all the hike...
