I consistently have only negative experience at this Michaels location. Staff are not only completely unhelpful, but are outwardly rude on many occasions. There have been times ive gone in 30-40 minutes before close and the staff will appear outwardly annoyed at me coming in the store and waste no time to let me know they are closing soon. I have worked several retail jobs and i understand as much as the next person how frustrating it can be to stay past closing time. I come in, get what i need, and leave. Tonight i came in 10 minutes before closing time. Upon entering the store I received the usual annoyed looks from all of the employees, and had two separate people let me know they closed in 10 minutes. No big deal, I just needed a pen. I went to the aisle i needed the pen from, and as an employee came to, again, tell me they would be closing soon, i could hear another employee in his headset telling him to make sure i leave soon. At this point there was still 6 minutes before closing time. Once i reached the check out, the girl rushed me over to self checkout and (in a pretty rude, bossy voice) instructed me through every single step of self check out as if not every person in America knows how to operate that by now. Then when the card reader crashed she snatched my items from me and hurriedly checked them out herself on the next machine. Then as i exited the building, another employee barely opened the front door she had locked minutes prior. I had to squeeze through the door and at this point it was STILL not even closing time, several minutes from it in fact. They locked the doors again immediately at this point. It is understandable to want to leave asap at the end of the work day. However, the way Michaels staff in Boulder act is extremely rude when it is anywhere near time to close. I get off work at 6:30 and am shopping during rescheduled business hours, if you want customers out at 6:56 then change your hours. I had an upcoming art show and went there, as I usually did to get my watercolor painting custom framed. I will not use them in the future because the first time I went the custom framing manager measured my painting improperly. I didn't know it at the time, but found out when I went in to get my finished framed painting and saw that the mat was cut too large to cover the painting with a 1/8" overlap on all edges. They agreed to reorder the mat and redo the framing. I got a call 8 days later asking "When's your art show again?" I knew there was a new problem. Now the mat window fit perfectly, but it was too small for the frame. They offered to do it again but I was running out of time to get it ready for the show. They offered a partial refund and I picked it up with the original mat that was too big and showed a white edge that shouldn't show. I ordered a new mat somewhere else and had to do it myself. My painting won a third place award in the show. While Michaels has a good selection of art supplies the framing staff needs...

She had pre-paid for the item online so all I should have had to do was pick it up. When I get there they tell me that it is in her name and she didn't list me as the one picking up so the manager Katrina would not allow me to take the item. Well, my mom still needed the item so I proceeded to just buy the item with cash. The manager Katrina refused to even give me the 40% coupon price and was extremely rude and unhelpful. She did not care about my problem and it seemed like she absolutely hated her job. I went ahead and paid regular price and then as a slap in the face they gave me a 40% off coupon for next purchase. Don't worry folks, I don't appreciate the poor customer service and it's time consumers just stop using businesses that don't appreciate their customers. I will never shop there again as it's so much easier to order online. I hope the 7 bucks...
