As a Culinary Arts Instructor, I understand that occasional mishaps can occur in a busy restaurant. During our visit to Drake’s, we experienced outstanding service, but our meal had some notable inconsistencies. Our server, Chelsea, was exceptional—attentive, professional, and proactive in communicating with us. When I ordered the Orange Shrimp Bowl, she informed me that the kitchen had encountered an issue, causing a delay. This was not a problem, as I had also ordered sushi and was in no rush.
However, when my dish arrived, it lacked any orange flavor, and I discovered raw tuna mixed in—a concerning deviation from what was expected. I chose not to eat it, as the dish did not align with its description. Later, upon reviewing my receipt, I noticed that my order had been mistakenly rung up as a Dynamite Shrimp Bowl. While I am unsure of the exact ingredients in that dish, the few bites I had did not sit well with me.
That being said, Chelsea’s service was impeccable. She was punctual, polite, and demonstrated a level of professionalism that elevated our dining experience. While the kitchen mix-up was unfortunate, I appreciate the challenges that come with food service, and the front-of-house team truly shined in making us feel...

Throughout our meal, large groups of staff frequently gathered right next to our table — sometimes even bumping into our chairs — discussing shift changes, call-outs, and other work topics. It was distracting and made the dining experience feel more like sitting in the middle of a breakroom than a restaurant.
I ordered the Hawaiian Sliders with fries, but what I received was far from the photo on the menu. The buns were all stuck together with the three patties stacked awkwardly in the center, just a few tiny onion slivers, one piece of very undercooked bacon stretched across, and no sauce at all.
To their credit, our server was friendly and offered to replace the dish, but by that point, the overall experience had already left us feeling disappointed, so I declined.
There are plenty of great restaurants in the Bowling Green area, so we likely won’t be returning to Drake’s. Hopefully this was just an off day, but it missed the...
Read moreThey have really good food, but terrible service. My husband ordered a burger with no tomato.... guess what was on it... Our friend that joined us is allergic to onions, he stated this to the staff and asked for his pork sandwich with no onions. It came with onions, he said i said no onions, the delivery person said I will let your server know... OK but fix the order. She took it back and they literally only scraped the onions off. There was an onion piece still under it. And the bun still smelled of onions. Soooo if u have a peanut allergy than they would make a new order. However onion allergy, they only scrap off the onions and give it back. So we all know you don't send food back to a kitchen more than once. So he ate it cuz we were soooo hungry. All the food was delicious. But either the kitchen or the staff don't understand how serious allergies are. So if u have any kind of request that would change the item on the menu, I would not go. However the food is amazing. Just the staff sucks at requests. And...
