I was so excited to come here for karaoke, but this place turned out to be a complete joke. I signed up the second they opened the list, scanned the QR code, and picked my song, only to sit there and watch the host skip over people and let the same group sing over and over again while the rest of us got ignored. Songs were randomly being added that werenât on the list, and if you werenât part of their little in-crowd, you didnât matter. When I asked about it, they gave me some BS excuse. I waited for nothing, and honestly, I was easily the best singer there, but I left before they ever got around to me.
As if that wasnât bad enough, the bartender, Hunter, was straight-up nasty. He refilled my friendâs beer using the same dirty glass the last guy had been drinking from. He barely rinsed it with waterâno soap, no sanitizer, nothing. When my friend pointed it out, Hunter tried to argue and said, âItâs a dive bar, what do you expect?â
What do I expect? Basic hygiene. Just because itâs a dive bar doesnât mean you get to ditch all health standards and serve people drinks in other customersâ dirty glasses. Thatâs disgusting and a health violation.
And letâs talk about the owner, Todd. If you check the other bad reviews, youâll see that instead of taking feedback and fixing things, he responds with attitude, excuses, and snarky comments. So I already know heâll try to argue instead of actually addressing the rigged karaoke system and the fact that his staff is literally serving people drinks in used glasses.
If you want an actual karaoke night thatâs fair and a bar that isnât serving you someone elseâs germs, go literally...
Read moreMajors Dive Bar is the kind of glorious dive where you come for a drink and end up staying for the karaoke, the chaos, and the characters. It might not have velvet ropes or fancy light fixtures, but what it does have is heart, humor, and a mic thatâs open every Monday and Thursday from 8 PM to midnightâand often well after midnight if youâre tossing a few bucks in the tip jar. Thatâs when the real party starts, and the host is more than happy to keep the good times rolling for the night owls and aspiring rock stars.
Shoutout to Hunter, the young bartender who somehow balances being fast, friendly, and freakishly attentive. He remembers your drink order by round two and makes you feel like youâve been a regular since the place opened. If this kidâs not a future bar legend, I donât know who is.
And if youâre a smoker, rejoiceâthis is one of the few places left where you can still light up right at the bar without having to sweat through your shirt in the Florida humidity. Itâs basically paradise with ashtrays.
But if youâre not a fan of smoke, Majors has you covered tooâtheyâve recently added upgraded air purifiers, so you can still enjoy the vibe without feeling like youâre doing lung cardio. Itâs a beautiful blend of dive bar grit with just enough modern common sense to keep everyone breathing easy.
Cheap drinks, great karaoke, awesome staff, and a come-as-you-are vibe thatâs impossible to fakeâMajors is the kind of place where memories (and sometimes mistakes) are made. Just how a dive...
Read moreUPDATED: My boyfriend & I went back to give it another try; We ended up getting served by the same bartender who apologized. Great customer service to reach out & create a solution rather than to argue it. We enjoyed our drinks.
My boyfriend & I were looking for local places to love & enjoy but unfortunately Majorâs was unwelcoming. I just turned 21 in July but the bartender, an older lady, said she canât take my ID because of the law??? Iâm not sure if she doesnât know the months of year to see that even though it says âunder 21 until 07-19-2023â, iâm legally allowed to purchase alcohol or she has a preference of what customers to serve⊠I did not care enough to argue. At the end of the day, I wouldnât want to spend my money at a bar where my boyfriend is getting looks from both the customers & the people who work there. This was discrimination. Disappointing. Elmoâs Rock Bar & The Brass Tap were great & will be returning...
