In short, I waited 40 minutes in line for food but was served a food substitute. There’s so many negative things to say about my experience at Raising Cane’s; however, I simply can’t look past the fact that not only did the servers not bring out one of my drinks but they struggled to fill the order after they were made aware of the mistake. After waiting in line for 40 minutes, an issue beyond their control but still a problem, I simply just wanted to go. After waiting another 5 minutes and watching other orders being filled, I simply left without my drink. It wasn’t worth it. Also, the person taking my order insisted on high-fiving everyone in the car. I get they were trying to be friendly, but it was unwanted contact with a stranger and excessive to reach into the car and knock on my rear window. Bringing the food home was a respite from people who don’t know how to deliver quality service. I understand that it’s “fast-food,” but a 40-minute wait plus $14 per meal, in my opinion, equates to sit-down service. Regardless, the food was subpar. Considering the line I waited in and the price I paid, I was expecting really good food. I would have been better off finding a Popeye’s which in hind sight, I probably should have left the line midway and looked for one. It would have definitely been a better use of my time, and I would have gotten decent food at a reasonable price. The fries were soggy, and the breading was peeling off the chicken. The Texas toast was good, but they’re called Raising Cane’s Chicken. Perhaps rebranding is in order. One of my friend’s described it as ball park food, which made sense considering how long I waited for an overpriced meal. Take it from me, Sanji was definitely not in the kitchen this evening,...

But I didn’t. In fact, I worked at Chick-fil-A eleven years ago so I measured them by CFA’s standards and also Popeyes and KFC, because that’s what I grew up with.
Cane’s chicken fingers are made with very fresh chicken breast with zero gristle! They’re famously “hand-dipped” and marinated overnight. I found the bite not crispy, but airy and light. CFA’s bite can be gummier, crispier and definitely saltier. If you want crispy I’d get the KFC chicken sandwich, whatever they do to that filet is magic.
Now for the Cane’s sauce: it’s salty, not sweet, and I detected chili powder, celery salt, and paprika, mmmaybe some Worcestershire (?) but you should do your own taste test. They only offer original or honey mustard sauce at Canes, and honey mustard sauce isn’t on the posted menu here so we received original sauce on our stuff. Their sauce has won awards! But again, maybe that’s because whoever gave the award grew up eating it. Me: I prefer the original CFA sauce, which is so popular you can find it at Publix.
As for atmosphere, Cane’s beat CFA by a long shot because CFA was slammed with the holiday crowd today.
This Cane’s had a holiday tree, lots of tables open, clean bathrooms and cool memorabilia on the walls (sports stuff, etc.). Music was BTS, Johnny Cash, Maroon 5, Pharrell Williams, so pretty diverse. Staff and patrons were also diverse.

Read moreDuring my lunch break, I stumbled upon a Canes restaurant near my location. It was a special occasion as it was the first time I was taking my son there. I casually mentioned to him that they mainly served chicken fingers, but he insisted that we go inside and give it a try. Reluctantly, I agreed and we entered the restaurant.
To our surprise, we were warmly greeted by a friendly young girl as soon as we stepped inside, and she promptly took our order. This was unexpected, considering the reviews I had read about long wait times at this particular establishment. Despite my initial hesitation, we decided to stay. After placing our order, we only had to wait for about 10 minutes, which was quite reasonable. However, when our food arrived, I noticed that they had charged extra for honey mustard and Canes sauce.
The manager, whom I believe was the one responsible for explaining their policy of making fresh sauces daily, kindly clarified the reason behind the additional charges. I expressed my gratitude for the information. Once we had received all our items, my son and I returned to my work truck to enjoy our lunch. We had ordered the chicken sandwich meal, and I must say, it was absolutely delicious and incredibly tender. My son loved the fries and the sandwich as well. I would like to extend my thanks to the young girl at the register for breaking my $100 bill for me and the crew, and to the manager for providing us with a great first-time experience. I will definitely be coming back to Canes...
