The Retromania attraction was very fun and well worth the money for our family! We enjoyed it immensely and had a great experience until we decided to eat at the attached restaurant. We were looking forward to eating at the New Wave Cafe as we had viewed a portion of the menu online while at the attraction. The menu was well thought out and very clever. It definitely made us excited to try the food! We walked in and stood by the “Please wait to be seated” sign and finally a server walked over to us, scowled, grabbed two menus (for our party of three) and without a greeting told us to follow her. She seated us at a table immediately beside the only other occupied table in the dining room and disappeared. She could not have made it clearer that she did not want us to dine in the establishment that afternoon. I finally walked over to the stand by the door to get the third menu that was needed at our table as the server still had not returned. After several minutes, she brought out an appetizer to the table beside us and began wiping down empty tables. Still no greeting nor a request to take our drink or even food order at that time. She eventually finished her cleaning and walked over to our table, still scowling, and said “Drinks?” We ordered three soft drinks, but as she walked over to the make them, while muttering under her breath, we decided to leave due to her poor attitude and dine elsewhere. We called to her to cancel the drinks as we had decided to head out. She barely even looked up at us and dumped the ice back in the bin. As someone who has worked in food service, I understand that people have bad days and it’s a tough industry but there is no excuse for that kind of treatment. We are local and could have been repeat customers but this experience soured us and doubtful we will return. Please work with your employees to ensure that they don’t make potential diners feel that unwelcome in the future. For reference, we attempted to dine in the early evening on 8/8/23. I will say that the attraction staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was the only negative but it was a big one! Edited to add: We did go back to the Retromania side and tried to speak with management at that time rather than leave a negative review just so they were aware of the issue when it happened, but the employee at the desk said she didn’t know where the manager was but could maybe go look. We did not notice a “please wait to be seated” sign which I do admit is our fault. However the large Marge waitress made sure to make a scene and notify us of the mistake that we made. Once we were seated,my wife went out her way to apologize to the snobby waitress about us not noticing the sign. She then just gives my wife a mug of a face look and mumbled Something under her breath.after we were seated,we were asked our drinks but then the wait started. We were never asked if we’re interested in any appetizers or if we had any questions. We noticed that not one but 2 parties seated after us placed orders and were eating. It took my mother in law which happens to be white who at this time blood was boiling to have to reach out and find someone to even assist us. Even then no apologize or anything. Long story short we never got offered refills until I caught another waitress attention. Besides the poor service, the food other than the fries and tortilla chips tasted horrible. Read moreWorst experience I had when visiting Branson for my birthday, booked me and my buddy a escape room at 3 PM the reservations were for the last 2 Openings of the night.. One at 7 PM and the other at 8 PM.. we get there a few moments late for the 7PM because of traffic. instead of calling the number we left the guy canceled our appointments. then somehow even tho we have already paid for the 8PM room and even reserved it at 3PM (5 hours earlier) they then sell the room me an my buddy waited an planned around all day an even paid for, to a group of 4 from Groupon.. they then proceed to tell us that we have to be refunded our money even tho we were the ones with reservations and waited the longest (the guy an girl manager even tried to blame the only nice girl who helped us book the room at 3Pm).. only thing i can think about is greed, they made more money off the group of 4 than they would have off our group of 2.. they couldnt even offer us a free escape room for our inconvience even tho they had 8+ appointments that never...
