*Three years ago was my last visit* On January 21st, 2023, our kind neighbor treated us to dinner at Anthony's Restaurant; it was a kind and generous act, and we had looked forward to going out. He had made reservations, and upon arriving, we were promptly seated, with menus, near the window with a view. We had high hopes that our dining experience would be a success; so far, so good, but that lasted only a short time. After sitting for quite a while, which gave us plenty of time to choose our dinners, our server finally came to take our drink orders. Twenty minutes later, another server brought our drinks out, and my hubby and neighbors cocktail needed to be corrected. They had to explain to the server what they had initially ordered; thirty minutes later, our server returned with incorrect drinks again. Will a third time be a charm? At that point we started questioning if we had placed our food order or not.. ? At this point we were delirious, the hunger pains was getting to us, and the napkins started looking appetizing! Time ticked by, another twenty minutes was out the door when the server finally appeared with the correct drinks. The third time was a charm, finally! Let us remember, up to this point, he had yet to take our food order; we had to remind him that we still needed to place our order for our entrees. What we ordered: I had a cobb salad with salad shrimp, mango, avocado, tomato, crispy wontons, blue cheese, and bacon on greens with basil vinaigrette dressing. My hubby had a cup of clam chowder, alder plank smoked halibut with mashed potatoes and a vegetable. Our neighbor ordered crab cakes with rice and a vegetable. We ordered... then we waited. Yay, more time to sit there and wait hoping our server would get those orders correct. Is this a Deja vu moment? Need I remind you about the drink order being wrong twice? Drinks and waters gone, the server was gone! However, eventually he did emerge long enough to refill "one" of our waters and then disappeared again! At this point, "Hangry" started setting in, we were eyeballing the table next to us to see what food was about to become fair game, lol! When our food finally arrived, all bets were off who would finish their meal first. My hubby ate so fast that sparks were flying off his fork! Nonetheless, we all agreed that the food was ok, not remarkable by any means, and not worth the price! I requested more water with ice, our server apparently was a magician as well; he knew the disappearing act all too well. I ended up waving down a busser and asking him for water! Toward the end of this confusing evening, our server magically reappeared again. He was letting us know that he was being sent home and asked if we wanted to close out the bill with him or another server, we chose another server. The replacement server was Lisa and she was kind, friendly and very apologetic about the situation. My hubby thought to ask Lisa if we were supposed to have received a bread basket, she said yes at the very beginning, which we did not. She explained he was reasonably new but having a lot of issues being a server, "you don't say..." After explaining to her all the mishaps, she was very gracious, even offering bread to go, as well as took a hefty amount off the bill. She had the manager come over and talk with us, as he was considerate and concerned about what had just happened. Although our dining experience had a lot to be desired (thank goodness for good company), it doesn't mean your experience will be the same. I do these reviews to provide as much information, good, bad, or indifferent, as to make consumers aware of what they may or may not encounter. Hopefully, businesses learn from all reviews to enhance, grow and overall improve their business. Shout out to Lisa! Be smart and ask for her! Anthony's at Sinclair Inlet is located on the water in downtown Bremerton, Washington near the Washington State ferry terminal. There is a parking garage located in the back at no cost! *Please remember, be kind to ALL living things 🐾 🌲*

I was here 5 months ago and it was 5 star as it has been for years from my experience. However this time, it was a total failure. I hope this is a fluke and not a change for the worse. Here is a summary of the experience. On entrance we were first in the lobby when exiting elevator, ahead of others lining up behind us. It was 240pm and we had a 3pm reservation. The host asked us to be seated off to the side so we did so and patiently waited. They then seated around 3 other parties who arrived after us - we waited around 10 minutes even after everyone else was seated and we were still waiting off to the side. I finally asked if we needed to wait more since no one else was in line and the restaurant was very slow (maybe 30% occupancy at most). The host responded that he was seating the walk ins first and would get to us next after getting caught up on some things. This sure seemed strange, make the reservation party wait off to the side and seat walk in parties (arriving after we did) first? Then get caught up on “other things” before seating us? So we continued to wait a few more minutes and were finally seated. The host wouldn’t let us sit where I asked by a window area I had requested, he said it was full but it was not - it remained roughly half empty throughout our stay. The food: Sourdough bread: The crust was very hard, didn’t seem fresh like usual. Clam chowder: Very fishy taste Not thick Full of potato’s (an unusually high portion of potato to soup) Not at all like the past 10+ times I’ve been here Crackers were very stale This was a shocker since in my opinion they always had some of the best Clam Chowder anywhere. Shrimp cocktail: Very mushy (zoom in to the picture, you can see the smoosh visually) Not much flavor This has always been consistently great in the past, such a disappointment… Oysters: We requested baked, however they seemed barely steamed and was still totally raw - so asked for well done on entree which was listed as “pan fried oysters” to make sure it would be cooked Halibut fish and chips: The batter was a bit hard and very chewy - not as good as usual. Fish inside much of it was also very dry. Fish lacked flavor. Seemed old, mostly flavorless. Fries: Perfect Pan fried oysters: tasteless, nothing special. Mostly raw even though we asked for well done. Anthony’s Burnt Cream desert: This was totally watery/runny inside. Seemed old. Strange taste. Showed waiter he seemed shocked and replaced it. I wish I could upload the video it was literally like soup. The new order was okay at least. Bailey’s Irish cream chocolate mouse: The cream on top was good but the mousse was not, it was very very strong Baileys flavor - shockingly strong in fact. It was actually hard to eat due to overload of Bailey’s. They may want to ask for ID to make sure those eating this are 21+. I actually felt intoxicated afterwards. Since I don’t drink this was noticeable. It was so strong, totally overpowered the mouse. Service water with lemon: Perfect (but they forgot the lemon) Diet Coke: Perfect When it was time to pay there was a “technical error” so it was a slow exit (roughly 10 minutes after providing credit card) On the way out the area I had asked to sit was only occupied by one table, clearly was not booked. Not sure if I’ll be back. $117 + tip for 2 people and left not having enjoyed anything (other than a few fries, water, and coke). This is the first time it was like this, Anthony’s has always been so consistent. On a brave day I may try again but as of now, highly unlikely.

I had an unexpected experience. I've been here before and never had an issue so maybe it was just this waiter? I showed up alone but let the waiter know that I had a couple others who would be joining me. He brought water and bread but never asked if I wanted something else to drink. When the second guest showed up, then he asked if we wanted something else to drink. Maybe it's a standard to wait until other guests show up? Finally, all of our guests showed up and we requested a drink menu. He forgot that and had to be reminded. We ordered an appetizer and it never came. We received our meals and still no appetizer. We reminded the waiter and he apologized and said that he would take it off bill. One of our guests food came out cold, that had to be corrected. Mine was cold also but I ate it anyway. One guest requested a glass of wine during dinner, the waiter had to be reminded of that also. I don't know what was going on. I'm not sure if he was just so overwhelmed or maybe this is normal for him. The establishment didn't seem to be overrun with guests, especially with covid-19 restrictions in place. But I don't know, maybe there's more to his story that I don't know. It wasn't a God awful place. The view was beautiful. There just happened to be one small issue after another that got to be pretty annoying by the end of the dinner experience.

Halibut fish and chips: The batter was a bit hard and very chewy - not as good as usual. Fish inside much of it was also very dry. Fish lacked flavor. Seemed old, mostly flavorless.

Fries: Perfect

Pan fried oysters: tasteless, nothing special.

Service water with lemon: Perfect (but they forgot the lemon)

Diet Coke: Perfect

When it was time to pay there was a “technical error” so it was a slow exit (roughly 10 minutes after providing credit card)

On the way out the area I had asked to sit was only occupied by one table, clearly was not booked.

Not sure if I’ll be back. $117 + tip for 2 people and left not having enjoyed anything (other than a few fries, water, and coke). This is the first time it was like this, Anthony’s has always been so consistent.

On a brave day I may try again but as of now,...

Short review; food Ok, View and restaurant beautiful. Wait staff need so much help...If you go, do not expect a 5 star experience.

Long review; Just walking in the door, the hostess didn't greet us with a welcome to Anthony's. It was, can I help you. Can I help you?......yes, a table for two for dinner please. Do you have a reservation? No. We are booked till 8. You might find seating in the bar...Great bar is fine. Here are a couple of menus. So we find a table in the bar. And wait. Watch the waiter in the bar walk past us 3 times, before finally bringing us water. Ok, there are only 5 two tops in the bar. Bartender is handling the bar top area herself. She was really on it, by the way. So people sitting at the bartop were being served way before us, even tho we seated ourselves before they showed up. We wished we had sat at the bar. Finally getting water, I don't let him leave and quickly order our food and a Corona. Corona comes after a 5 min wait, he asks if we need anything, I said a lime would be great with the Corona. After 3 or 4 mins, he brings a lemon on a toothpick, and quickly leaves. Ok, lemon is close to a lime, so I'm thinking summer shanty, I can make this work. Except, the lemon wedge won't fit in the bottle. So we finally flag him down and long story get a lime. Success, shouldn't have been that big of a struggle. Meanwhile, our not so pleasant hostess is eyeballing the table/booth directly behind us. Turns out, some friends of hers have unexpectedly shown up. So she's alerting staff to grab that empty two top, the people that were there when we found our spot had just left. She is actually walking over to the table and giving staff instructions for that table and her friends, which soon after that are sat. So, now we know the hostess isn't totally uncapable of doing her job, it just needs to be the right person.... Dinner comes in a reasonable time. Fish and Chips. Food is ok, l mean it's fish and chips at a seafood restaurant, so it's Ok. Would have been nice if the two small amount of tarter sauce hadn't been spilled on my no dressing Coleslaw. Does that even count as coleslaw, or is it just a pile of shredded iceberg lettuce, and purple cabbage with some julienned carrots. Anyway, I degress. Ran out of ketchup for my chips, no waiter around to ask for more. So just ate them plain, yummy.....and of coarse same problem with the fish and tartar sauce. Oh yeah, and my no croutons Ceasar salad, had croutons, now I'm just being petty. Waiter showed up to give us a bill and ask about dessert. We ordered the cheesecake. It was delicious. He asked us if we needed anything else and made a comment about now that it slowed down he had plenty of time to serve us......That made us feel....frankly, ready to get out of there. All in all, we won't be back. Made us feel like we really didn't matter, which we know we don't, by why make people feel that way and then knock them over the head with $100 bill for fish and chips and way less then stellar...
