I prefer to do reviews after I've been to a place more than once. Since I've technically been here more than once, I'm going to do a review.
The first time we came, we were in a time crunch and decided to run in here after stopping at the Petco nearby. When we walked in, there were several other diners at tables, but no one seemed to be eating. No one greeted us, but there is a bell at the counter that has a sign to ring for service. Someone came out after we rang the bell and told us to sit wherever we like, gave us menus and went back into the back room. We waited for another 10 minutes or so, and realized that no one else in the place had gotten any food and didn't know how long they were waiting, so we decided to leave because we had somewhere to be.
The second time, my son and I were about to embark on some Christmas shopping, so we were in no rush. This time, we were greeted immediately and told to sit where we like again, and got menus and some water. We quickly made up our minds when we saw the specials board and how great the prices were. It took about 15 minutes for the waiter to come back out and take our order, but it seems it's only the one guy who handles the dining area and take out orders, so it's fine. We ordered the chicken teryaki and lumpia special for my son and the 2 fish and 4 shrimp and chips plate for myself. The food took another 20 minutes or so to come out, but we soon discovered why.
Everything was made fresh to order and it made a huge difference. This is the best teryaki chicken I've ever tried. It was hard not stealing a bunch of bites from my son's plate. The rice is great, the chicken has the perfect amount of char and teryaki sauce and they give you a side of the sauce as well. The lumpia is delicious and comes out piping hot. The braised cabbage and veggies were a great addition to the plate and breaks up the monotony of most teryaki chicken plates that are usually just rice and chicken.
My fish and shrimp were cooked perfectly, both covered in a delicious beer batter. The fries weren't bad. They bring you a whole bottle of tartar sauce which I can appreciate. I was expecting much less here, especially after seeing how cheap, but I was totally pleasantly surprised. Is it the best fish and chips I've had? No, but is it awesome? Yes!
I plan on trying more of their traditional menu items now that we've had the basic stuff. I'll have to do some research before going back though, since they don't seem too helpful in explaining what some of the odder menu items are.
This is a total hole in the wall hidden gem, super affordable and very delicious! Go here and you won't be disappointed. Even if it's just for the basic fish and chips or teryaki. The only reason for the 4 stars is that you kind of have to wait around for stuff, but it's totally worth the wait, just don't come here if you're impatient or in a rush.
Edit: I haven't eaten there in like 4 years due to them shutting down during COVID. After the shutdowns ended, this was one of the places that refused to reopen and forced customers to order by phone and sit outside to wait for to go food. I stand by my original review in that I suspect the food is probably still good, but with other options available, I didn't want to have to go through the unreasonable sidewalk pickup, so they lost me as a customer. They stayed closed to the public longer than the Jack in the Box next door even did (which also lost my business). They are more than welcome to leave my review and highly viewed pictures up to represent what you would expect 5 years ago, but someone reposted MY picture of adobo 5 months ago as if it is still something you could get on doordash. I can no longer say if the dish is or is not the same. They didn't even start using Doordash until I assume that they lost enough business to change their model. The main picture on doordash is MINE and I did NOT get that plate from Doordah. It's dishonest and misleading at best. Order from them if you want, but I just want to be transparent,...

Having spent a decent amount of time overseas enjoying Filipino cuisine I found myself excited to try something local as well. My personal favorite dishes has always been Pancit, Lumpia and Lechon Kawali. Unfortunately this meal was incredibly bad, and barely edible if not entirely inedible. The pork belly was dry and significantly overcooked while simultaneously being extremely greasy and oily. The pork belly lacked any real meat at all, and was comprised almost exclusively of fried skin. It was essentially overfried pork rinds that were underseasoned and extremely hard. The rice was also dry and tasted extremely old and worn out, like it just wanted to be put down, but not eaten.
The atmosphere of the location was giving the aura and display of a restraunt that had fallen on hard times and was well passed its prime. It seemed dated, and gave an uncomfortable dirty feeling. I would highly recommend they take a hard look at their menu and attempt to restructure in a way that they have fewer options that are of...
Read moreSo the fish was very dry. Very. The house fries rice, literally the worst I've had. And I've thought I had bad. I had to fix it when I got home. Balls of unmixed/unseasoned rice. Maybe 2 ounces of meat and 4 shrimp. The egg was....added way too late. The whole dish was very bland. I gave it three stars because everything is worth the effort, but I'm being nice. The service. At the counter, I saw my bag of food minutes before given to me. Opened. Heat escaping. And she handed it to me like that. Not closing the bag is a first to me. New technique? Probably not. If you all need tips on how to make fried rice, look it up on YouTube or hit me up. I mastered 2 woks style in a Thai restaurant for 6 years. Even if i had no experience, Anything else is better than what...
