I absolutely love shogun and always have, however this location in specific puts a bad reputation on the shogun name and I was thoroughly disappointed by how long it took before they had a cook when the people we were sharing with were there before we even sat down, the salad and soup was delivered promptly with our drinks upon taking our orders finally however that was the only time my drink was filled until I finally happened to catch him again to ask for a new one 10 mins after my drink was completely empty. The sushi was still very good as usual, the rice was still very much so white even after I poured more soy sauce 3 times & my rice was crunchy??? We had ordered shrimp fried rice as we always have from shogun in the area we live in for over a decade now and they have never had an issue serving the shrimp fried rice all together as it should be; you recieve your shrimp WITH your rice, at the same time. This is not how they served our shrimp fried rice but 20 mins after we recieved the rice after its already eaten or now would be cold. My noodles were chewy, I'm presuming cooked aldente, because the chef had his little stove/grill on higher heat to have it cooked faster, my chicken was both burnt and chewy (ew salmonella...) the soup that is served with the ginger salad was off colored and tasted like dirty dish water, usually served with green onion i think instead was fried onion and frankly looked like it had crickets not onions in it, my mushrooms from my vegetables tasted expired completely turning me off from them. Simply overall an unpleasant visit as I could barely touch my expensive plate as it was rather inedible to which the waiter and chef rather than fixing the charge as correctly large fried rice with a side of shrimp rather than shrimp fried rice, didn't even ask for comps on anything regardless of the lack there of service in addition to subpar dishes and still wanted to give a horrible attitude. This is not the quality of food or service that I am accustomed to recieving from shogun....
Read moreMe and my wife have been to the Brenham location several times and enjoy the food and staff, Ken and Madison have been wonderful to have company with but tonight I asked kaitlyn if Madison was working she replied yes, went to seat us in Madisons section when the gentlemen pointed to Kaitlyn to seat us at the grill with. No one at it, I ultimately new we would have to wait for our food till someone else was seated with us. We waited 30 minutes until the next group ordered and total of 45 minutes before we got our food, when I questioned why we did not get seated with Madison it was a mis understanding with Kaitlyn. when we wee leaving Kaitlyn decided to confront me explaining that I never requested Madison so I told her it was a mis understanding when she decided she wanted to be confrontational with me and my wife. At no point should any hostess be this way with a customer, and at no point should any one have to endure this at a restaurant. The manager apologized and told Kaitlyn to walk away so she went to the kitchen then came back out still mumbling things to us. She said “next time I will have to spell it out for you” which really upset my wife. I left the restaurant to return to Kaitlyn still trying to confront my wife. I love your food but this young rude ladie will cause me to not return. The manager was the only one to apologize for this matter. I explained that this should be Kaitlyn’s job for how...
Read moreThey lost our business. Not that the food is all that, but good enough & we can save on gas by not driving into Bryan for really good hibachi. The place is completely empty on a Saturday night. Not one person there! Me and my husband and our son go in and we are set by a gentleman at the hibachi table. A few minutes later a lady comes over and tells use that we have to move from where he has seated us, over to the edge. My husband says he does not want to be seated on the very edge (that the corner is fine) and that this is where he was seated and is happy with the location. She explained the waiter was new and we had to move. Being that we all eat fillet steak, sushi rolls, and often a few drinks, that’s a lot of money to turn down when you don’t have a soul in site offering you money. Let’s add that my husband is a stupidly good tipper and always tips over 20%. Again not one person in the place so they didn’t need the spots. Just rude! So now we drive to Bryan for good hibachi. I’m personally happy they were rude! It’s worth the $20 in gas when your spending that kinda money for one dinner. It’s so much taster at Atami! Yum, my mouth is watering as we drive there, while writing...
