Something has changed at Verizon in Brenham, Texas. My MiFi Jetpack just melted 3 weeks ago. I took it to Verizon. They sold me a replacement device for $100.00+. I took it home and three days later the SIM card quit working. I took it back to Verizon. After some less than respectful comments from her, she installed a replacement SIM card. Took it home, then 3 days later, guess what. This SIM card stopped working as well. When I took it in I met Carlos. He was just flat rude!!! Told me I would not get a replacement from the store, but one would be mailed to me in a few days. I told him I needed a replacement TODAY, because I live in a rural area and this device is my ONLY source of internet which I use in my Real Estate Business. He refused saying this is Verizon policy and he "was not about to violate policy!" We argued. He would not back down!! He called a customer service specialist named Josh in South Carolina. Neither man would give me their last name!! Ended up having to pay $16.00 for expedited shipping. I have been a Verizon customer since mobile phones came out. About 30 years!!! Before Verizon became the name of the company. Name was GTE Mobilnet, then later merger created the Verizon name. Mi first cell phone cost $2400.00 as I recall!!! Before either of these rude individuals were born. We may need to explore other options!!!! Interesting....the service at this Verizon location used to be EXCELLENT!!! Now.....those days are GONE!!!! 2/11/2022 Update: Received the new MiFi Jetpack via FedEx this morning, just 45 minutes late, but better late than never. Instructions said to remove Sim card from old unit and place it in new unit. That was undoubtedly the result of Josh lfrom yesterday and his failure to listen to my problem. THE problem was a faulty Sim card so why move it to an new MiFi???? So I returned to the Brenham Verizon store....Pleasantly surprised that Carlos from yesterday was not there. All agents wer busy so the man in charge, Chuck Dauson, according to his name tag told me to have a seat and wait for the next available agent. I guess he didn't wish to assist me, so he went back to his desk and shuffeled papers. Shortly an lady named Lisa finished with her cuatomer and asked me if Ineeded some help. I told her my entire story and asked her if she remembered me from yesterday. She said yes. I said I hope today goes better than yesterday. She smiled. Bottom line it did go much better. Lisa was very helpful. Got a new Sim Card, installed it, then she went over what I needed to do to activate it. Although it took some time, this morning went VERY WELL. ...
Read moreThe help here has always been good but our experience with Riley F. was simply outstanding. He helped my husband and I upgrade to a new phone, not rocket science, but he was so very kind, super knowledgable and fast (bonus). We made great conversation while we waited and left feeling generally satisfied after getting what we needed and nothing we didn't want. We also left knowing we met an outstanding young man.
The next day we had another issue with an upgrade we had done previously at another retail store. We called Riley for help immediately because he had been so incredibly kind and super knowledgeable. He told us to come in and he would try and resolve our issue for us. We came in, and in about 5 minutes he solved a problem that I thought was going to cause me to have to return a phone and start all over from the other retail store. He printed my document, boxed my item and sent me on my way.
Let me just say this young man is going places. I hope that Verizon recognizes the man they have here. He is very smart and incredibly efficient, but more than that he is caring and good at his job. He has ethics and depth and that is something you just don't get very often. He is definitely going to make an impact somewhere, thanks for making one on us. It is people like this that makes you remember there is still good in the world and in our youth and want to come back. Very gratefully , the...
Read moreThe employee who helped me most recently (June 2024) was very misleading about an offer with 5G Home Internet service. He said no contract, no commitment, try for only $45/month and if you keep it for 60 days you can redeem an offer for a gift card or Nintendo Switch. I knew after about a week that the internet could not handle all of the devices in my household, but decided to keep for a while to get the free Switch. Mid-September here, and I still haven't received an email regarding the offer so I looked it up and the offer expired a week prior to my visit. I was bamboozled. Also, he failed to mention that (if the offer HAD been available) you can redeem after 60 days but if you cancel before 180 days they will charge the full retail value of the offer (Nintendo or gift card) to your account.
3 stars because I have been here several times and have had good experiences at this store in the past, but I want everyone to be careful. The employees are salesmen and they will tell you what you want to hear to make you feel like you're walking out the door with a great deal and then you get your bill the next month and just about fall over. Side note: DO NOT LET THEM CHARGE THE $40 SET UP FEE IF YOU ARE THE ONE TRANSFERRING EVERYTHING OVER FROM YOUR OLD PHONE. They are charging you a fee for a service they did not provide. And they will not help with billing if you walk in, they will tell you to call...
