I was helping a family member in the Brighton area, and decided to swing by the nearby McDonald's drivethru for lunch. As it was slightly after noon I was surprised to see a total of 5 cars in the dual lane drivethru (2 waiting for their food, and two behind me), at this otherwise very busy retail area. At the drivethru order post I said "I would like two Double cheeseburgers, both with NO KETCHUP". The somewhat uncertain order-taker repeated back my order, for which I concurred. At the Pay Window, the woman said "...so, you only want Ketchup on these...", to which I said "No, I want NO KETCHUP". She then got a little distracted, and said something like "...ok, ok, so you only want KETCHUP....". Thinking that I was being Punked (and Ashton Kutcher was going to pop-out with his Film Crew, I didn't flinch), again I very clearly articulated that I wanted "NO KETCHUP". She then said "...let me fix this...", but after several minutes she could not (having to call-over someone else to help). Then she said something to the effect "...ok, we're all-set, NO KETCHUP..."; which I agreed with thankfully. Then she kept repeating (some 8 more times) "....No Ketchup, right?...", which I continued reaffirming (again, I'm now very certain that Ashton is nearby, but still haven't spotted him), yelling to the burger folks "No Ketchup". Finally paying for my order, I proceeded to the pick-up window and received my order, breathing a sigh of relief as the attached receipt confirmed both Double Cheeseburgers had "No Ketchup". As the freeway entrance ramp was very close (and I had a drive ahead of me) I merged onto I-96 headed home. Taking my first bite I was stunned by the taste, for which I took off the top bun to discover that the ONLY CONDIMENT WAS KETCHUP (which I DO NOT LIKE)! In total disbelief, I opened the other wrapper to discover the first burger's Doppelganger (yes, yes, ONLY KETCHUP, for which I discarded them both when I got home). Having said that, my story speaks to a much bigger issue, which is the wholesale failure of our Public School System. When I was young, you could count upon Public Schools to crank-out some students with enough competency to flip Burgers. I long for those days... p.s. This may explain why there were many more employees than...
Read moreIt used to be okay, but in the last couple of months it has gone downhill and it's reached rock bottom. Every single person that used to work there has quit. They have an entirely new crew who doesn't seem to know what they're doing or care.
I always use the drive-thru and they used to know what they were doing. But iust in the last week I have had them give me the wrong order. Luckily I was able to spot their error before I drove away. Yesterday, as usual, I was in the drive-thru and I was waiting in the outer of the two drive-thru lanes. There was one person ahead of me and one person in the inner drive-thru lane. The guy on the speaker took the person ahead of me and then the person on the inner drive-thru lane, and then another person on the the inner lane, and then another person on the inner lane, and then another person on the inner lane. All of this while I am sitting on the outer drive-thru lane. I finally gave up and backed up so that I could join the inner inner lane. When he got on the speaker I told him that I had been waiting in the outer lane and gave him my order code And told me to pull forward. I pulled up to the first window where they verify your name and order, but there was no one at the window so I waited. I waited, and I waited as I could see him walking back and forth inside not paying any attention to what he was supposed to be doing, checking my order. When he finally bothered to come to the window he asked very briskly "Are you okay?" I told him that I didn't know (since it was such an ordeal to get him to speak to me at the speaker, I wanted to check to make sure that he actually had my order, as they always do). He responded very rudely "Move up". I would definitely recommend against going to this McDonald's until they get there ish in order. Which I'm not holding my breath...
Read moreAs someone who used to work retail, I understand wanting to leave as fast as possible during closing. I get there today at 10:40pm. I pulled off to the side to order online so that way when I pull up to the window my food is done and ready to go. 6+ cars were waiting in line at 10:40pm for 5 minutes while the three employees sat outside talking and hitting their vapes. They kept looking at the McDonalds line as it grew bigger and continued hitting their vapes until they decided to go inside. As I’m waiting to pull up to the second window to receive my order. The manger left the window open and all I could hear is him talking crap about other employees and saying how “you better be grateful that I’m here” and etc. Meanwhile it’s now 11pm and I haven’t received my order. I finally got to the second window and none of the employees were in the kitchen. Instead I see all of them walk out of the area where the bathrooms are located. And then they proceeded to stand around not preparing any of the food. I would have drive off but I paid $20 for food already. Someone in a yellow Pikachu hat was just standing around and a guy with ginger hair literally said “what did they order”, and proceeded to say “oh sh!t” afterwards after finally reading my order. Meanwhile theres still a ton of cars behind me. 11:05pm came around and I finally got my order. The food came out all fresh and that was the only thing that went right. Besides the medium fries I order in which is wasn’t even half full. The service here was just very disappointing and disrespectful. Do better...
