Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen — Restaurant in Brownsville

Read until through end.. One of our favorite places until recently. We arrived an hour before closing. A young lady failed to greet us while she was wiping down the glass doors as I clearly said "hi how are you ". I had to say it again, good evening before she responded. Our waiter was so young and obviously new, didn't know the menu and forgot our items several times. Instead of confirming for an item he'd said it's "because they changed the menu they may have removed it" rather than looking. Which may be true since it's been over a year that we've gone out. We managed to find the item and ordered that instead for someone in our party (a pregnant cousin). Her order came exceptionally fast, we weren't complaining because she was hungry and it was a craving. Towards the end as everything was working out, they come to clear our table in such a hurry and trying to carry everything at once that the girl drops a BBQ sauce container to the floor splashing everywhere onto walls and US!

We thought this was the end of it but as everyone was home our pregnant cousin fell ill from food poisoning. Seems her chicken Alfredo caused her to get sick perhaps from being under cooked and ended up in the hospital from dehydration. Luckily her and her unborn twins are okay. Party of 18 on 4-6-19. Orders were messed up: steaks not cooked to order, wrong sides and a kids plate never brought out. Was told wait time would be 30min (by a manager) and she offered free appetizers since we had already been there a while. Total wait time was almost 2 hours. Horrible attitudes! Waiter made excuses and tried to blame us for the orders. Manager was absolutely ridiculous and her approach was very defensive when all I was trying to do is let her know about our bad experience. She thought it was ok to use sarcasm. When explaining to her how my steak was not cooked to order she said “well you should’ve said something” which I responded “I did and waiter did offer to change it but I said no because I don’t believe in wasting food and I knew they were going to throw it away” and she replied “well don’t worry about what we do with the food” then when I was telling her her approach was very defensive she said “I guess I have to do my training again” (very unprofessional). Hard to understand how this person is at a managing position. Wish I had gotten her name but I was so upset that...

I give places the benefit of the doubt but this time was just one mishap after another. First we are ignored after being sat and no one approaches our table after 15 minutes (ok). We put in our drink(s) and appetizer order and 10 minutes later our teas get there but no bar drinks (ok maybe a bit behind). Hoping the appetizer makes an appearance so we place our meal order in. Another 20-25 minutes later and two thirds of the meal order is placed in our table. Still hoping the appetizer makes an appearance and the pending meal. Fifteen minutes pass and no third meal and guess what it was not placed at all, so more time to wait. By this time I'm ignoring the waitress because I'm about to go off but patience is kicking in and my wife can sense it. So no appetizer and to top it off the meat entrées were under cooked. This waitress was so focused on the large tables that she forgets our table and the one next to us as it was evident on their frustrated faces.
