It’s nice to have an Other Half location here in Buffalo. My significant other was thrilled because this is one of his favorite beers and they were not always easy to find in Buffalo. They are famous for IPA’s and they serve them on tap, in the can and to go. If IPA’s aren’t you thing it’s worth nothing that I don’t think they served pedestrian beer here. I cannot comment on the beer itself because I cannot drink it. But the beer seem to have a cult following. There were cider and wine options for the non beer drinkers. I tried some of each and they were both pretty good.
The space itself was cool. Pretty big, a good amount of seating and some games. The current space is temporary while the building behind it is being finished. I guess the final property will be larger, which is great. There is an outdoor space right outside complete with concrete built in seating and cornhole. It had a very city like vibe and I can’t wait to sit out there next time. Like most breweries the business model was very casual and didn’t offer table service. Currently no kitchen but they have food trucks outside most of the time and you can bring your...
Read moreI have been to Other Half on a few different locations, and we have been to the Buffalo location a few times-both in your temporary and now permanent location. We love your beers.
We went to the Buffalo Bisons game this evening and were excited to get to the brewery to enjoy a beer before heading home. There were two couples in our party, all of us in our 40s.
Unfortunately, at 9:35, we were trying to open doors, which all had signs on them to go to the next door, which we did, and then every door as we walked around was locked. The place was absolutely packed inside, and it was embarrassing to have everyone watch us as we tried every single door and they were locked. Employees watched us try enter 20-25 minutes prior to your actual closing time (as posted as 10pm on Google and your website)and nothing…employees didn’t even have the courtesy to say you were not open any longer, or you had a private party, or last call, or...
Read moreHere's my take. They definitely don't deserve 5 stars. The beer is okay but nothing to write home about. This place is too chaotic. It's too big. There's games everywhere. I don't know who goes to a brewery to play pinball games or an arcade machine. If the machines were actually being used the noise would be extremely uncomfortable.
I only wanted to buy a few cans. They don't even have samples of beer that are available to buy in cans. They have weird requirements, such as some cans are available individually while others must be bought in a 4 pack. When I went to the counter, I was the only one standing there. The guy 20 feet in front of me working there was texting on his phone and I was completely ignored - if he even saw me standing there. I waited until another staff member saw me and let me purchase the cans.
Would I go back? That's a definite no. But try it for yourself. This is my perspective...
