Is it weird to admit that I’m still thinking about the jerk chicken tacos I found last week at the farmer’s market? Since I am in good company I feel like sharing my confession is safe here 😂 I came across this local husband and wife duo at the Hamburg Farmer’s market. This food option is a new at this market and I learned that this couple owns a brick and mortar shop downtown and lives in Hamburg. The wife was offering samples, which we can never refuse, and we were in awe of her flavorful, not to spicy, juicy and delicious Jamaican Jerk chicken. We did a lap around the market but were quickly drawn back over to order some tacos for an early lunch. The prices were very reasonable $5 for 1 and $13 for 3 and the portions were generous. The tacos had a very fresh soft corn shell, crispy yet soft. The chicken was just as delicious as the sample that drew us in and the toppings included arugula, queso fresco, fresh and juicy mango salsa balsamic drizzle and some corn chips on the side. The tacos were a nice size but weren’t huge. We realized there was a good amount of boneless skinless chicken thighs, my absolute favorite, in each. And the chips added a nice crunch and were the perfect way to pick up any leftover taco stragglers. We devoured everything and were pretty full. The tacos and many of their other menu items are gluten free which is a huge plus. I need to check out their store front soon because I’m sure their other offer it’s are just as good as these tacos!

It's a tiny stand in a building, but man, they are slinging out some good food! You can smell the yumminess the moment you open the building door. Great food and extremely reasonable prices. He does a nice jerk seasoning, and it's a place every employee downtown should check out, especially if they're hoofing it to the Ellicott Square Building. It's right across the street! His crab cakes are out of this world, his Rice Bowls with jerk chicken or shrimp... wow! His chili is also fantastic, and to be able to add on a grilled cheese sandwich for $1 is simply top notch. You get to watch the food bring prepped, and unlike some places, he takes cash and credit. I haven't been for breakfast sandwiches yet, but I heard they are phenomenal, and I don't have a single doubt about it. Since it's just a part of the NYS Labor Department building, don't go in expecting a place to sit. You've got enough room to order and wait, but the food is SO worth taking back to your desk.

Finally had a chance to order food here, and I really enjoyed it. I ordered the rice bowl (jerk) and the portion was huge. The jerk chicken is very spicy, and the mango salsa topping complimented the dish. My wife ordered the crab cakes(comes with 2). Crab cakes was ok, they would've been out of this world if it had more crab than stuffing. But the sauce was great. Next was the tacos (3), she had chicken (jerk), shrimp, and steak. All was very good and packed with filling. You can't go wrong when you use real corn tortilla shells. In all great place to get real food, when you don't want fast food.

I wanted to like this so bad but it was just disappointing. On September 6th I ordered a chicken burrito with steak in it as well and it came with a side of jasmine rice with butter, and the service and staff were great but when I ate my food I was just left with disappointment. The jasmine rice was flavorless, and the burrito lacked flavor as well. The steak was cooked well but lacked flavor and the chicken was really plain, but the worst offenders were the rice and the salsa. The rice was unseasoned, lacking even the slightest hint of salt and for some reason the salsa was sweet, which made the burrito taste like a concoction that didn’t resemble anything good to the taste buds. I wanted to like this so much but if you like flavor, food with seasoning or anything of the sort just drive the extra 3 miles and go to Chipotle, because for nearly 23 dollars I expected it to at...
