After passing by on my walks downtown many times, I finally made it into this museum and I wasn’t disappoint! The displays were phenomenal and the volunteer workers were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It’s not a very big place, but if you take a deep dive into the individual displays you could easily get lost for hours. The historic items and photographs are well presented. They also have many models of historic ships and grain elevators. The best part about it is that it is FREE! They do accept donations, which I gladly provided, and I bought a bottle that one of their divers found on the bottom of the harbor. If you are in to Buffalo history, I highly recommend...
Read moreMy fiancé and I visited the museum yesterday. It's relatively small contained to a single floor with stairs from the front to get in.
It is absolutely packed with interesting items and descriptions. We also had Tim (I hope I'm remembering his name correctly) as a volunteer, he was a wealth of knowledge and did his best to answer any questions we had and elaborated on many of the pieces already there. He did an amazing job and really made our experience enjoyable!
The museum is free, there is a guest book I would recommend using, and if you enjoy yourself, donations are welcome.
