So disappointed. Ordered over the phone, and asked for a Large Create Your own with Pepperoni and Ricotta. I let man who took my order know that my boyfriend will be the one to pick it up. I was very specific with my order because he had a very thick accent, and I didn’t want anything to be minunderstood.
We have never had a problem here, so my bf trusted that our order was correct, and didn’t open the box before leaving. When I open the pizza at home, it has olives and tomatoes on it as well. I call back to let them know we’re going to return the pizza for our correct pizza.
The man who answered the phone the fist time answers again, and he starts to yell at me over the phone. He starts telling me he knows what I ordered. Trying to explain the situation and keep the interaction calm, I explained again that I wanted a Create Your Own with two toppings not four. He continues to yell incoherently, and I say “listen man, at the end of the day I can have the bank reverse the charge or you can make our pizza.” He said that he would correct the pizza.
My boyfriend went in to exchange it, and the man who I spoke to over the phone was there in person. My boyfriend said, “I’m not trying to argue, I just want to get the pizza.”
And the man got upset, talking over my boyfriend saying “I know my own Pizza! Greek pizza with pepperoni and ricotta!” My boyfriend asks, “Do you think you might have misunderstood Create and Greek?” They sound similar in the man’s accent. The man got upset reminiscent of a Chef from Kitchen Nightmares in the depths of denial with an ego to match.
My boyfriend walked out of the establishment, leaving the pizza he brought to exchange on the counter.
I’m so sad that a simple error was expanded to this magnitude because someone couldn’t provide any sort of customer service. I’m not asking for much, I’m asking for you not...
Read moreThe food here is so good! I used to live in Austin and, honestly, it’s been a little depressing going from a ton of great pizza options (Homeslice, Yaghi’s, Via 313, etc.) to...well, Canyon Lake. Villanova’s used to scratch the itch when they got it right, but when they didn’t—whoof. Then they closed, and I resigned myself to the price and convenience of Domino’s.
I’ll be real: I knew about 46th Street long before I tried it, but the reviews and photos online didn’t exactly inspire confidence. One day I was driving by, said “screw it,” turned around, ordered a pie, and waited. Took it home—and so glad I did. Whether I'm feeling lazy, having pizza and a movie night with my partner, or hosting my mom, I find myself going back more and more. Bonus surprise: their desserts are legit! I don't know if they're made in-house or sourced fresh, but they’re good.
Service is excellent. They always answer the phone, the pizza is ready when they say, and the cashiers are patient and pleasant. Abby helped me most recently—offered me extras, showed me the dessert options, and gave me a full rundown of the chocolate mousse cake (I grabbed cheesecake this time, but do yourself a favor and try the carrot cake when it’s available). Reece made our pizza this time—sometimes it’s Pablo, one of the managers, who’s always zipping around making sure everything’s running right. Pizza was still hot, fresh, and foldable when I got home.
Atmosphere feels noncommittal, like if you threw a sports bar, a moody Italian pizzeria, and a NYC tourist trap in a blender. It’s fine—I’d eat in without hesitation, just not with enthusiasm. One ding: constant Fox News feed on the back wall. Not trying to catch up on the world’s problems while picking up a pie. How about no...
Read more46th Street New York Pizzeria is a fine pizza restaurant. It’s not bad but it’s not amazing either. The appetizers are a miss but the pizza is good.
The restaurant itself is clean and has a New York theme (surprise). It was nice and clean and the menu is sure to satisfy almost everyone. The staff was nice although we didn’t really engage with them other than to place our order and ask for a box.
We had the mozzarella sticks and buffalo wings as starters and both weren’t great. The mozzarella sticks are more like rectangles and are too large for our taste. The buffalo wings come in three standard flavors; mild, medium, and hot. The problem (that we find out after ordering) is that mild means no sauce (just fried chicken wings) and hot actually is the same as medium (when we asked we were told they only have on type of sauce).
The pizza made up for the appetizers. We ordered the 46th Street Special and the Meat Lovers pizzas. The toppings were generous and the crust was thin and crispy. The large is a 16” pizza and is more than enough for a family of 4, especially if you order appetizers as well. The price for the pizzas ($21 for a large) is the only complaint. When compared to other pizza restaurants in the area it’s hard to justify the difference in price, especially since they don’t have any specials.
Again, we thought the restaurant was good and the staff was fine. The appetizers weren’t worth it but the pizza was good despite being...
