Tacos El Hass — Restaurant in Burien

Today I visited Tacos El Hass after my Dr. Appointment for a quick bite to eat. As a vegetarian I usually order a veggie burrito, but considering it has tacos in the name I asked if she could make veggie tacos. Almost always, if not always, whenever I get Mexican food, there are at least a few ingredients/components that make up good Mexican vegetarian dishes that are missing. Sometimes that’s the cooked veg, sometimes that’s an avocado component, often it’s literally just rice and beans. This place made THE PERFECT veggie taco. Equal portions of cooked veggies and deliciously seasoned rice, with a touch of bean. Accents of shredded lettuce and cilantro, but not watered down by them. A hunky slice of avocado and fresh sour cream. The flavor balance was so perfect I almost cried. Not to heating or cooling, cooked or raw, just perfectly balanced. Little Mexican restaurant. I was expecting Mexican music but they had some weird genra playing. Waited about 10min just to put our drink order in. There were no other tables or customers waiting. The service was sooooo slow I was extremely disappointed we orders an orchata a michelada and a paloma. I must’ve ordered a science project because the server took forever just to fulfill those. We finally got out drinks and ordered our food by this time about 25min had past or longer. I was hangry!!! The food was mids!! I ordered a couple more Paloma’s and same thing waited more that 10-12 min to get when the restaurant isn’t even busy. The cherry on top was the tab. This is a great hole in the wall find for Mexican food. The menu is surprisingly large. I normally get a burrito, gf gets tacos. I used to frequent the other close by local mex places, but this is my new favorite. The food seemed like it was prepared fresh. The staff have been very friendly and attentive. Free Chips+Salsa at the table sealed the deal for me. This place kinda looks like a takeout mex joint from the outside, but they behave more like a sit down table...
