🔥 Hidden Gem at the Burnsville Mall — Gaona’s Kitchen Delivers Big Flavor in a Small Space
Today’s taco stop took us somewhere unexpected — the Burnsville Mall food court. But don’t let the location fool you — Gaona’s Kitchen is serving up tacos that rival the best in the Twin Cities.
We tried both steak and chicken tacos, and each bite was packed with flavor. The steak was tender, juicy, and loaded with bold, extra seasoning that took it to the next level. The chicken was just as impressive — moist, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection.
And for those wondering about the price? It’s right in line with most taco spots — $20 for five tacos that are absolutely worth every penny.
But the real star of the show? The red sauce. This isn’t your average taqueria salsa roja. There’s something deeper, richer going on here — I picked up on what tasted like subtle Indian spices woven into the mix, giving it a unique, unforgettable twist. It’s the kind of flavor that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate it.
Beyond the food, the vibe at Gaona’s is just as inviting. The staff treats you like family — genuinely warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they’re serving. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back before you’ve even finished your meal.
So next time you're at the Burnsville Mall, skip the chains and head straight to Gaona’s Kitchen. It’s a taco experience you didn’t...
Read moreI give this place 5 stars for their food! As a born and raised west coast girl, I know good Mexican food when I see it (ok, when I try it) and Gaono's is the best I've had here in our neck of the woods, let alone the entire state if I'm being honest. The ONLY thing I wish they'd improve on is the wait times. If you go to the food court with your family and they order from somewhere else, you'll be waiting for your food well past the time it takes your group to finish theirs. Also- I give my vote for them to move out of Bville Center and into their own restaurant location! That would make my heart...
Read moreSeriously good tacos. Decided to check out the mall as it's been like 20 years. Dismal but there's still hope. But the food court!? Oh wow what a selection and Gaona was my choice that day. Went with the steak tacos and they were monumental. Best I've had in a while. And the hot sauce was hot! If you like spicy that won't disappoint. Probably too hot for me but I appreciate they didn't wimp out. The people were way friendly and even though I'm on the opposite side of the metro I'll plan on checking them out again when I get down that way...
