Panera Bread — Restaurant in California

Get this one! Unfortunately I had an interesting experience at this Panera tonight! I love the seasonal Strawberry poppyseed salad. Only reason I go there honestly. Pulled up, placed My order and then was told that they ran out of pineapple for the strawberry 🍓 poppyseed salad. I Asked if they could just add extra strawberries in place of the pineapple or mandarin oranges? The employee in the windows response was “our general manager doesn’t allow us to do that.”? If we add extra strawberries, or Mandarin oranges, we will have to charge you for it ? 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️I then asked if my salad was going to be discounted since I wasn’t getting 100% of the salad. I was told no discount they couldn’t do that. So I ordered my salad, pulled to the window and asked to speak to the manager just to make sure that this was correct, and yes, the manager Emiliano confirmed that, it’s Ophelia, the general manager’s policy” that they could not substitute strawberries for the shorted pineapples. He confirmed that they don’t substitute if they’re missing an ingredient and they don’t discount if an item is missing an ingredient. Kind of weird that your general manager expects 100% of the price for 90% of the product added my own pineapple and made it better. The salad good 😊 after I made it complete!...

Went to pick up my order since I did pick up. I pulled up to the drive through since it was completely empty and I had no shoes on, the girl said i would have to come in to pick up. I tod her again i dont have any shoes on and she told me she cant make an exception for 1 customer. Its really odd because nobody was there and usually so shoes no service which its 10am i just hopped in the car to pick up my order before my son woke up. So i go in leaving my phone in the car , everybody in there has a rude look on there face then they tell me i need to now show them my phone which is in the car. So i go out to get it shoeless of course come back in the girl is like i dont see a name on the order like for gods sake it was only a bagel and a sandwich im not going around trying to steal peoples order. I just am very unhappy with this company now and how i was treated when i spend money with them weekly and shouldn't have been a big deal to give me my order through the drive thru this time since i have picked up door dashes by drive thru with other places, but clearly they didnt care i had no shoes on and its 54 degrees outside. My experience at the Manteca Panera was terrible. They have lost me as a customer. I ordered online a salad, a sandwich and a cinnamon roll. When I got home, the cinnamon roll look like it was missing a part of it. I went back to the store with my receipt and the manager reluctantly exchanged it after accusing me of probably eating it!!! Very upsetting to be treated this way since I buy panera for lunch in modesto at least 4x a week. The Modesto employees have always been great! My time is valuable and gas is expensive in California. Did this manager really thought that I would partially eat the cinnamon roll to go all the way back to their store to get an extra piece of a roll? How absurd that would be! The personnel at the Panera Cafe in Manteca need to have serious training on how to treat customers appropriately. Someone with basic manners, etiquette would have never argued with the customer about a piece of a cinnamon roll. Panera, your company needs to invest time and resources on training your employees how to behave properly in this type...
