I had an interesting experience at the Applebee's in Camden, DE. I've been a huge fan of this location for years and it's convenient since l reside in the neighborhood. On this occasion l ordered the bone-in sweet asian chile wings, boneless sweet asian chile wings, chicken wonton tacos and neighborhood nacho beef for curbside pickup. My wife picked up the order with no issue. The only problem, she didn't check the order prior to departing. Once the order arrived home l noticed the portion size for the neighborhood nacho beef had reduced. The size of the beef nacho portion has reduced over the years from a large container, to 2 smaller containers to currently just one small container. I called the restaurant and spoke with one of the on site managers and told corporate made the decision to reduce portion size. I proceeded to the restaurant to return the beef nacho order and was met by the curbside cashier upon entering. I asked for a manager and after about 5 minutes one arrived which l requested a refund for the beef nacho. The manager departed and returned after another 5 minutes and instead of giving the refund stated to my shock that according to her register l need to pay for the rest of the order. She stated the order was still open in the register as if my wife departed with the food earlier without paying for it. I cannot make this up. So l called my wife from the restaurant to find out if she paid by cash, or credit card. The order was paid by cash and a description of the cashier who brought the food out for curbside was given. So, the manager leaves again to find curbside cashier who handled the order. So, l wait another 5 minutes and another cashier comes to the register. She proceeds to give me a refund, but in all their confusion was giving me a full refund for the total cost of the entire purchase. I explained to the cashier I'm only here for the neighborhood nacho beef refund. I never saw the manager again and l departed. It'll probably be some time before l order from this...
Read moreTo start things off we ordered three non alcohol beverages. However one, the strawberry lemonade had to be made at the bar. So our two drinks came, we waited 15 minutes then had to remind our waitress we were still missing the lemonade, that was sitting at the bar. We had to ask for straws, napkins, and utensils. We waited close to 35 minutes for our food. Two burgers were ordered medium well. One came out raw, the other came out over done. The chicken fajita wraps were wet / moist and flimsy. I have ordered this at multiple Applebee's. This was never a problem. At this point we were ready to leave, we had to wait for the waitress, who wanted to send the food back and correct. However at this point we had been there 45 minutes and had no faith in this establishment. She then asked us to wait for the manager . He arrived stated he will talk to his cook, he had multiple call outs, and he would take care of the bill. The manager then walked away. As we began to leave the waitress asked us to wait a few more moments, knowing we had been on the road for 8 plus hours and had more driving. While wait time wasn't too bad and neither was the food outside of my partners steak which was a bit chewy to him our service was lack luster. While some of the other staff had us start with appetizers and drink our actual waitress paid no real attention to us until we had finished our appetizers and our child was finished with hers. Even then we saw her maybe once or twice after that and she paid more attention to a group that had just walked in and sat RIGHT NEXT TO US than even some of the tables who had been there longer and us she completely ignored once they had sat down check maybe once in passing cuz she probably saw how impatient we started to look. We honestly contemplating walking out all together without paying because of the lack of attention and poor service. Alas we paid but tip the girl poorly as we received extremely poor service from her. She did even bring us a bill, ask us if we were interested in desserts (which we heard her do with a a group two tables behind where we sat), nor acknowledge our departure from the restaurant.
