We went to Ellie Mae's for a little afternoon lunch. It was the first date my husband and I had been on in a while. We drove up and parked right in front. We walked in and we were immediately greeted by a large smile and a big welcome. It kinda felt like walking into Cheers. We sat at the bar and ordered up some delicious drinks. I had the Florida Mule and my husband had the Fog Lifter. The mule was incredibly delicious, made with fresh squeezed orange juice, which added such amazing flavor. The drinks were made quick and Peg, the bartender made sure to make them with generous amounts of goodness. Next, we ordered food. They had an amazing burger special, but we were having burgers for dinner, so we opted for the trio of dips, a cheese quesodilla with BBQ chicken, a blt slider and a BBQ chicken taco. The food came our fast and boy was it delicious. The dips were amazing and we got a mix of tortilla chips and crackers for dippers. Which we proceeded to eat all of and was quickly replenished with more. We cleaned out the dip cups and then moved onto our other foods, which we also ate enthusiastically. The flavors were just soo good. Through all of this, we got to talking to Peg and got to hear the whole history of the bar, her life and built a great conversation with the other patrons. By the time we left, I felt like I'd known everyone there my whole life. It was so exciting to making so many new friends. The bars atmosphere was just so calm and relaxing. The decorations were well thought out and the bar room had soo much light. The coolest part - the backyard. A real tiki bar adorns the space along with a stage for music, comfortable chairs and tables and that same welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. I loved Ellie Mae's and if we find ourselves back in Cocoa Beach, I'm making that our first stop. Thank you Ellie Mae's for making our first date out in a long time so memorable!! Much love to...

A great little local Tiki Bar. I love this place. The outside area has a great Tiki Bar and if you are lucky enough to be there on a Wednesday night say hello to Chachi the bartender who is absolutely awesome. I am a bartender so I love to go to a place that has a great bartender and good food. On my last visit I tried the turkey bacon fig jam and blue cheese sandwich and it was amazing. A few days prior I had the reuben sandwich which was very good. I've had sliders tacos and burgers. The Spinach Strawberry Salad was amazing. So far everything has been really good and the prices are reasonable. Happy hour is fun and the place will be busy with locals which is always a good sign. There are some really excellent house specialty cocktails so check the menu for them or ask a bartender about them. Check out the website or Facebook page for the live music schedule. There are always good entertainers there when they do have music. The outdoor back area is dog friendly which is another added bonus for those of us who are dog lovers. As a matter of fact the whole place is named after a cute little dog. Often times the owner Peg is there walking around so if you do see her say hi and tell her that...

Tonight I experienced Ellie Mae’s Tiki Bar food... and let me say that it was really really good!

I had the fish dip & it is pretty safe to say that this dip IS NOT from a can! It was tasty! I also had the pork tacos and requested the mango salsa that goes with the chicken tacos. Can I say that the flavor of the pork was A-MAZING! Better than some bbq joints that claim their pork is world famous - for real!! The mango salsa was really good too!

My friend, who just might know the owners had a mixed order of the peel and eat shrimp... this dish is a MUST! The shrimp are of a decent size and they are seasoned w/ something similar to Old Bay. The mixed order was 1/2 cold shrimp & 1/2 warm or steam shrimp - that style went really well w/ the melted butter served with.

The atmosphere is definitely of that being surrounded Cocoa Beach local folk... corn hole boards and the Tiki Toss Grommet game. The deck, picnic tables and Adirondack chairs were spaced nicely and had plenty of room for people coming and going...

Go check this place out! You won’t...

This local tiki bar is an absolute gem–cozy, welcoming, and full of charm. The atmosphere is cute and thoughtfully decorated with creative tropical touches that make it feel like a mini getaway. The service is incredibly friendly and makes your experience feel even more personal. Now the food–wow. I ordered the French dip sandwich, and it was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly toasted, packed with flavor, and served with a rich, delicious au jus that took it over the top. Tender meat fell apart with melty cheese and sautéed onions…. You can tell a lot of care goes into what comes out of the kitchen. If you’re looking for a laid-back spot with great vibes, standout food, and genuine service, this place is it. I can’t wait to be greeted by the sweet owner, hear about her adorable little pup, Ellie Mae, and talk to Jill, one of their fabulous bartenders. We are now regulars when visiting Florida.
