HOT DIGGITY DOGS!!!
Let me take you on a journey about a man and his hot dogs.
As Anthony, founder of Posh Foody Lifestyles, was enjoying a walk on a nice summer day, he stumbled upon a long line that seemed to lead to nowhere. As he approached this line; he realized that the ever-growing line was for a hot dog. Wait!! What?! A hot dog???
HotDog Tommy's
Anthony busted out some of his ninja- like skills and bypassed the line to see why this hot dog joint was attracting all this attention. The aroma of this magical hot dog hit me like the first time he tried scrapple, ( and if you don't know about scrapple, you don't need to)! Now, where were we..
Oh yeah, he saw a woman reach out for her dog and it looked perfect. He was starting to scurry back in line when he saw this dude wearing a HotDog Tommy's hot dog hat.
Anthony started to talk with him and he introduced himself as Bruce, the hot dog connoisseur. And boy was he right! Bruce's concoctions are something that will suit anyone's cravings. He creates everything from scratch including his cole slaw and dressing. Even the potatoes are mashed by Bruce and his hot diggity doggers. He then told Anthony to stay where he was at and he'll be right back. Bruce showed up with 2 of his creations.
The first was a SUMMER SHOWER DOG -mashed potatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, bacon bits, and sour cream.
The second was his MESHUGANA DOG (Oh Goy!) -cole slaw, russian dressing, potato chip chips.
Now he then added some of his hand cut french fries and the refreshing Beach Ball. This is a multi flavored slushy layered just right.
There is so much more to this place then hot dogs. No need to view his site since we have a feeling you are now out the door, in the car and pulling up at 10pm just to be the first in line at HotDog Tommy's!!
If you thought this is all Bruce and his family have to offer this world; wait until you see my review on his other place in Sea Isle City, NJ called Chank's, (which happens to be by the other HotDog...
Read moreThis was a random find for me while walking through the beach line area of Cape May. What caught my attention to Hotdog Tommy’s was the line of 15 people situated about 20 minutes before closing time. The large selections of specialty hotdogs was impressive. Plenty of classic toppings, but then I found some hotdogs with a questionable combination of toppings that had you thinking as to how they could possibly taste good together. In the end, this hot dog with mashed potatoes, sharp cheddar cheese & bacon was selected. Hesitant & excited to take a bite, I was pleasantly surprised to get a good amount of all ingredients in every bite. Similar in taste to a loaded baked potato on top of a hotdog. Somehow, it worked. The flavors had me smiling at how good it tasted. And I can’t forget about the slushes. I went with mango and cherry as two separate drinks. The mango was an absolute sweet treat with a fun, sugary taste of actual mango and in slushy form, was perfect for the hot day. The cherry slushy was something special. Just the perfect combination of fruity and refreshing. I mixed both towards the end. THAT was an amazing combination. The owner was out greeting the customers and was so personable and friendly, that you almost forget you just met. Highly recommend this little...
Read moreI was SHOCKED at how good the customer service and food was here. I have a gluten intolerance and always worry about where I can eat especially in places I’ve never been to before. Tommy the owner made my first visit to Cape May really special because of his stand up personality and kindness. He made sure all of my food was prepared gluten free and went above and beyond to make sure I get comfortable. My boyfriend and I didn’t realize it was cash only at first and only had card. Tommy the owner offered to give us all of the food for free and just pay him the next time. Which is outrageously nice and of course we didn’t take that offer because someone like that deserves more + tip! Someone in the line even offered to pay for our food and we were like what is going on here everyone is so nice lol. We’re from philly and you just don’t see that kind of service often. Tommy and his hot dog shop make Cape May such a cute homey town. You really feel cared for there and I really appreciate how he takes the time to get to know his customers. Also, I never leave reviews EVER so the fact I’m leaving this means a lot. Hope you visit Tommy and his hot dog shop, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. There’s a sense of community...
