I recently had the pleasure of dining at Same Same Thai Food, and I can confidently say that this place is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with friendly staff who made me feel right at home. However, what really stole the show was the food.
The chef here is nothing short of incredible! You can tell he’s passionate about his craft because every dish is a masterpiece, bursting with flavor. The moment you take your first bite, the flavors pop in your mouth, each one more delicious than the last. Whether it’s the spice, the sweetness, or the savory richness, the balance is perfection. It’s clear that the chef puts a lot of thought into each ingredient and how they come together. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience!
The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. It's rare to find such high-caliber dishes that don't break the bank, and Same Same Thai Food delivers exactly that.
A special shoutout to the gentleman with the long hair and beard – he is a true asset to this restaurant! He was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and ensured that everything was just right throughout the meal. His service made the entire experience even more enjoyable. It’s not every day that you find someone who is both skilled at their job and genuinely passionate about delivering top-notch service.
I will absolutely be back! Same Same Thai Food is now one of my go-to spots for fantastic Thai food. If you haven’t been yet, I highly recommend you give it a try. Hats off to the chef and the entire team for making this such an unforgettable...
Read moreSame Same delivers the kind of dining experience that feels both inventive and comforting. From start to finish, everything I ordered was a standout.
I started with the wonton samosa, a playful and delicious fusion that balanced crisp texture with rich, flavorful filling. It was the kind of appetizer that sets the tone for the meal—unique but approachable.
For drinks, the Sioux City Old Fashioned impressed me with its balance. Smooth, well-crafted, and just the right level of boldness—it paired beautifully with both the starter and the main course.
The highlight of the evening was the grilled New York steak. Perfectly cooked to almost blue, very juicy, and seasoned with care, it showed off the kitchen’s skill. The flavors were deep and satisfying, and the preparation respected the cut without overcomplicating it. The Thai chili dipping sauce was phenomenal.
To end the meal, I was lucky enough to try something off-menu: the secret Thai Tea Tiramisu. This dessert was nothing short of brilliant—silky layers with the fragrant sweetness of Thai tea, offering a twist on a classic that I won’t forget.
The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere struck a balance between stylish and relaxed. The music was fun and fit their style. The art was punchy and the added punk twist took me back. Same Same is the kind of restaurant that makes you want to come back—not just for the food, but for the sense that every detail has been thought through.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Highly recommend if you’re in Carlsbad and want a meal that blends creativity, quality, and genuine...
Read more"But Different" is the other half of the catchphrase this bar is named after. And in the best way because when best friends team up to take decades of industry experience and open something of their own you know it's gonna be done right. It's not some big rich restaurateur trying to change the landscape it's 3 local guys making the neighborhood better. While State street expands and quality neighborhood bars vanish, Same Same provides something different than the dilapidated nearby bars out of touch and living on former glory.
It's still got the bones of Clara, but a much needed decor update inspired by travels to Thailand. The pink lighting is surprisingly unstripclub like. Think neon vibes, but classy.
They are working on solidifying their final menu's and run vendors initially, so check social for the ever rotating offerings. Come for the drinks and ambiance, but stay for the secret desserts.
You'll find classics brought with them from former bars along with new inventive ever changing menu. A solid back bar selection lends itself to the fun dice roll game to pick your brown bag random drink. Think Compass mystery wine offerings promotion, but for spirits. Fresh espresso for their espresso martini is a nice touch despite improvements to recipes made with just coffee liqueur, fresh is best.
I can't wait to see their final vision come to life as they hit their stride and you shouldn't hesitate to check them out. Locals will recognize these guys and see what good...
