I have a food allergy to pork and asked the team at this location if they could make the sandwich in the back cutter to avoid any cross contamination. In the Compton location the team is always friendly and understand the danger food allergies pose and the importance of providing excellent customer service. Unfortunately the member, on duty at this time, here did not. She brought a cutting board from the back and proceeded to cut the meat on the cutter in the front and I mentioned that I was uncomfortable with that because of cross contamination. This team memeber rolled her eyes and made it seem like my request was such a bother as if I was not a paying customer. I had already ordered 3 other sandwiches. Her coworker told me they would clean the cutter and then make my sandwich. Then this rude member said, " We handle pork here all over and I won't guarantee that you won't have an allergic reaction." There were other customers here and she motioned to them like I was the reason she couldn't help them. The other team memeber told her she would help me and to move to the next customer but all she did was move over to the fridge where the meat is held and made faces towards me and to other clients as if I was being difficult. The other female member then proceeded to clean the cutter and the rude memeber continued to say, " we have pork and it touches everywhere (as she motioned to the entire visible workspace) we can't guarantee you won't have an allergic reaction." As the other memeber ushered her to leave me to her and continue with the next clients. She ignored that and repeated "we can't guarantee you won't have an allergic reaction" two additional times. Needless to say my family nor I felt comfortable or safe to have my food prepared there. I canceled my entire order and came to Chili's instead where the waiter understood immediately and reassured me there would be no pork cross contamination with my meal. I am very allergic to pork and if I ingest it accidentally I end up in the emergency room. THE YOUNG LATINO LADY WITH THE GLASSES A LITTLE HEAVY SET, COULD TELL I HAD OBSERVED THIS AND IMMEDIATELY SAID I'LL CHANGE MY GLOVES. WHICH WAS FINE EXCEPT EVERY TIME YOU CHANGE GLOVES. BEFORE DOING SO, YOUR SUPPOSED TO WASH YOUR HANDS A MINIMUM OF THIRTY SECONDS WHICH SHE DID NOT DO. SHE MADE THE FIRST PORTION THEN WHEN I ARRIVED TO THE NEXT EMPLOYEE. WHEN HE CAME BACK TO ATTEMPT TO MAKE MY SANDWICH WHICH WAS A TUNA FISH. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED HIM AND SAID OH NO, WHERE NOT GOING THEY'RE TODAY CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT PRIVATE PARTS HE POSSIBLY MAY HAVE RUBBED BEFORE PUTTING THE NEW GLOVES ON AS A PAYBACK ILL SHOW YOU MEASURE. THEN I REQUESTED THAT THE ORIGINAL HEAVY SET LADY CHANGE HER GLOVES, WASH HER HANDS, PUT ON NEW GLOVES TO MAKE MY SANDWICH, SHE BECAME IRRATE REFUSED SERVICE AND THREATENED TO CALL SECURITY. Edit 8/10/21- I've upped my review. Lately when going I've had much better service and my order has continually been correct. Every time I go and Charles (his name according to my receipt) is there, I've never had a problem. I don't know what changes while he is on shift but it works for me!
I love Jersey Mike's but this store is not on par with other locations. When I do mobile orders they are almost always incorrect. When I go inside and order the staff always has multiple mistakes. I went in today and they tried to add things to my friends sandwich she didn't want and forgot stuff on mine. They put both orders together, not a big deal but we didn't want them on one order.
