This restaurant is really interesting. I was slightly surprised when I walked in, as it replaced another Chinese restaurant where I had eaten before, and with which I had been highly impressed. I noticed the change as soon as I entered the restaurant. The website I pulled up, calls the cuisine Indo-Chinese. A completely new experience for me!
The menu features dishes I had never heard of before, some with curry, many with ginger, a couple of Thai offerings, and most with noodles or rice. They also had soups I'd never seen before, like sweet corn soup and manchow soup.
Of course I saw that it was Chinese food with an Indian twist, but it was so different from the familiar Americanized Chinese favorites I've grown up on, that I wasn't quite sure what to order. I asked a ton of questions of the poor waiters, but they explained everything to me kindly, patiently, and courteously and didn't seem to mind or notice that I felt nervous and out of my element.
The thing I found truly appealing was the five-star level of service, as waiters were at my side before I even sat down, pulling my chair out for me, bringing me an amazing, lovely salad of leeks, lettuce and a ginger dressing that was out of this world, as an opener, and answering every question I had, no matter how weird my questions may have seemed to them. They were super, super sweet and made me feel like I was a special guest in their home.
I ended up ordering the hakka noodles with chicken and They. Were. AMAZING!!!! They came in a serving - size bowl so I thought, "I'll take half of this home." No way! I ate the whole thing, it was so delicious!!! I must confess, I also ordered the hot fudge brownie sundae. Also delicious!!
I would recommend this place to anyone seeking a lovely night out with friends. Order a variety of foods and share with each other. I am positive that you will not be disappointed!!!
For a first experience with Indo-Chinese food, I cannot thank this staff enough for their courtesy, attention to detail, and amazing skills in the kitchen.

Read moreGood: Food is good here. Bad: Food order takes lot of time Ugly: Staff will be waiting to argue with customers to vent out their frustration.
I think by far this was the worst establishment in the entire United states where I had such a bad experience.
Updated after owner comments: Alright I did not want to go in detail but since owner posted the narrative. This is what happened my end.
We went in lunch time ordered the food. Like I said before food was good. We decided to order one more dish which took long time to get prepared. After waiting with no food in sight, we decided to just pay and leave and the staff said here is your order while we were walking out. I asked to cancel the order. I was expecting ' no sir we can't cancel' instead the staff said. ' what should I do with this ? I said "keep it" and their response was "you can't talk like that. this is not a McDonald's where you can just say keep the food. It takes 40 minutes to make the food". He was talking in the same lines for next few minutes. I think other tables can vouch for the tone he was talking those things. I could have been more argumentative to his comments but instead kept my calm and paid the bill and came out. I think the argument itself was unwarranted for. Either you cancel the order or you don't cancel the order and charge for it.
To the owner I would like to say that , I think the staffs outburst was unwarranted. That's not how you treat your customers. He could have just said sorry I can't cancel the order and that would have been the end of it but the staff wanted to teach me a lesson seems like for asking to cancel the order. You go to any decent restaurant out there and play the same scenario , the waiter would either say "sorry for the delay sure I will cancel the order" OR "sorry for the delay but we can't cancel the order as it's ready now" and charge for it and that's it, that's the end of it.
Anyway I thought I was just a scapegoat for the person's frustration that day. Maybe some other customer...
Read moreWOW!!!! This restaurant absolutely blew my husband and I away! Every single thing was absolutely delicious. I had a long island iced tea, and it was the perfect tartness, not overly sweet. The best Long Island I've ever had! We started with the angry prawns, which again were delicious. We ate them all up! My husband had the Tom Yum soup and he is still raving about it this morning as he ate his leftovers for breakfast. He has been searching for that flavor for years, and is ecstatic he has found it again. My husband had the Mango chicken, and I had the Kung Pao Eggplant, and the flavors were perfect! So well balanced we wondered if we were dreaming. The best part? How satisfied we felt at the conclusion of our meal. No discomfort, no over fullness or bloating. Just nice full tummies that carried us through until morning. I was ringing the bell on our way out! We were very happy!! We will continue to come back and try new menu options, there are so many options and they all sound delicious!
The atmosphere is also wonderful. I loved the music, it had me dancing in my seat. The place is so well decorated, artsy and beautiful.
If you have not tried this restaurant, you are surely missing out! Don't visit if you're in a rush, make sure you come when you can take your time and enjoy your meal and ambiance. The service is not as attentive as you may be familiar with, but it was just attentive enough to were we were not waiting too long, but also not bothered too much.
I highly, highly recommend Wok On Fire! Delicious, beautiful, and no they didn't pay me to write this. I am just truly so excited.
*Please note my picture was after I had already been eating, it was served much prettier! I got the Kung...
