I want you to imagine a neighborhood somewhere in East Texas mid 1950's. Green grass, white picket fences, smiling faces around the table awaiting dinner. Now imagine what that food taste like from this suburbia and transport it to North Carolina and attach the word BBQ to this and see where my dilemma begins. I am from Arkansas originally. BBQ and fried catfish is something you just don't advertise and it not live up to expectations. No disrespect, but sadly this food seems to have established itself somewhere a long time ago here in Cary, NC and people kept coming more so out of tradition than the actual food itself. BBQ rarely disappoints most places. You have to do alot to make BBQ a unenjoyable experience and this establishment managed to succeed at just that. I had this meal pictured my dear lady had the smoked chicken. When a side of okra is the most exhilarating thing to touch your mouth of the entrees eaten someone failed. This meal rates meh at best don't let the picture fool you that is a 7oz filet of unseasoned, should of been thrown back in the pond he was caught from catfish. I had a piece of Texas toast that helped me stomach this fledgling of a filet with what was described as "fried" corn that was more sunburnt or air fried on high for too long. The BBQ baked beans were undercooked and bathed in a BBQ sludge that was the equivalent of mistakenly eating a spoonful of cold gravy that you thought was chocolate pudding. The smoked chicken was tender but the skin was as dry as papyrus paper in a mummy's tomb I wish I had at least desert sand on the skin or the chicken itself so some flavor profile could of been created. The sweet BBQ sauce was just sweet sludge that if was housemade should honestly be reevaluated to determine if it should be indeed added to any meat they may serve here. I had hopes. I love BBQ I've gone to a few BBQ establishments here and they have excelled and introduced me to many things but of the three I've tried here so far this one ranks tenth.

was referred to this place as being one of the best bbq joints in town but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. granted, we did order to go and had a 30 minute drive. we ordered two, two meat combos. we got smoked chicken, pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. for sides, we got coleslaw, hush puppies, and fried corn. the good news was that the ribs were delicious. super moist, smoky, and tender. i could’ve finished a rack to myself. the brisket was a little on the dry side and not much smoke flavor that i’d hope for. the smoked chicken had good smoke flavor and was dry as well. the pulled pork didn’t have much seasoning or smoke flavor either. for the sides, the cheese curds and hush puppies were great and super tasty. but the fried corn wasn’t anything special. couldn’t really taste the natural corn flavor. despite all of this, i will give the benefit of the doubt that we did order to go and had a long drive. the staff were super friendly as well. this review won’t deter me from coming back. i agree it would’ve been better to dine in, which i will do next time.

This was my second time getting Danny’s and I was just as impressed as the first time. The smell of barbecue when I walked in the door set the tone for what would turn out to be a great meal. Pictured here is a 2-meat plate with ribs and turkey. The ribs were outstanding. Tough enough that I could eat them without them falling onto the plate, and soft enough that I didnt have to tug on them and nothing was stuck in my teeth. The turkey was sliced turkey breast. It was good, but the ribs were the star of the show. Last time I got pulled pork and brisket. The pork was exceptional, but the brisket was just above average. Both times I’ve ordered the sweet and hot sauces. The sweet sauce was good, but the hot sauce is outstanding. Its a little thinner than I was expecting, but it mixes well into the pork and is the right consistency the pour onto the ribs or dunk them into. Its hard to find good barbecue, but dannys does it right. Prices are very fair, especially for cary, and the portions are generous. I cant recommend the ribs enough.

I am very surprised by these ratings to say the least! We ordered ribs for the kids, which they have pretty much enjoyed every other place that they have had them, but both of them didn’t like them. They both said they had zero flavor and ended up throwing that money in the garbage! Also, they did NOT look like ANY of the pics on here! Thanks so much for over charging on them and not making them, at the very least, edible! Then my husband and I got the brisket and chicken and the brisket was ok, but could have had some seasoning added to it and the chicken was AWFUL! Just smoked chicken with NO seasoning at all, not even salt and pepper! We couldn’t eat any of the sides, because we are Keto eaters and also don’t eat pork, so we didn’t want them and they made us pay for it anyways! What kind of place does that??? I have NEVER had that happen in my life!!! They didn’t even try to help us with that situation and offer us a idea or solution, just yes and no answers when we asked. You could try to keep a customer by helping them with their dietary needs! We got it as takeout and took it home, so I was fortunate enough to be able to spice my chicken with some onion powder, salt and pepper! It was better but still dry! YUCK!!! Never again! I have ate at places that weren’t that great, but this was the worst first experience at a restaurant that I have ever had!

Then my oldest daughter that is 23 and ordered her own food had chicken wings w/salad, but could only get the salad in place of the 2 sides that come with the meal and salad is WAY cheaper to make, especially theirs! Cheap salad mix! This was even after we didn’t get 4 of our sides with our meals that we paid FULL price for and we’re NOT offered any other options like a salad that we COULD have! Then she wanted some potato salad and had to pay $1.89 for a VERY, VERY small amount, again after we paid for 4 sides that we did NOT get!

WORST SERVICE AND FOOD EVER!!! WHAT A RIP OFF!!! I will be spreading the word to EVERYBODY I KNOW!!!

VERY...

if you love being treated very disrespectfully then this is the place to go!! i have been on 2 different occasions and was treated as if they didnt want my money and i spent nearly $100 each time!! the younger girls and the older lady ALL have nasty attitudes and the owner Danny him self has a terrible attitude! i picked up lunch for a few of my co workers which was 5 plates of food and i was only given ONE 3oz cup of bbq sauce for 5 people to share!!! i asked the lady was it extra to get the bigger size and she just handed it to me. then i was going to pick up some of the smaller ones and she proceeded to tell me that i didnt need the little ones if i had the big one!! to keep from going off on this girl i just went with the big one for 5 people!! i came back to work told my boss what happened he called and tried to speak to the manager but couldnt so he asked if there was any way someone could bring us some more bbq sause since we got ripped off on bbq sauce. they said they couldnt do that. he run the story by the girl about the bbq sauce and she called me a liar. then danny called and was very rude and ugly with my boss and calling us all liars!! so if this is how you want to be treated over some bbq sauce go right ahead and eat with these rude people!!!!!! other than all of that the food was great!! service SUCKS!!! :) btw this is the Cary location that everyone on here says is just the best place to go but its not!! they need to get some nicer people in this establishment. because of this whole fiasco we will no longer be dining at Danny's BBQ and we will see to it that the other dealerships...
