Our party of 6 walked in and was seated pretty quickly where we asked (outside), we all loved how the restaurant looked, the ambiance, and everything about it. Unfortunately, that was about where it ended.
After we sat, it was about 10-15 minutes to actually get a waiter to come over to see us. There were other people outside, so it's not as if we were alone, our waiter just didn't.... show up. It was to the point we were about to leave when he finally arrived. He took our order for drinks (margaritas and sodas), and left. Drinks arrived shortly later, and we were all super disappointed with the margs. It honestly all tasted like these were pre-bought margarita mix purchased from a store with alcohol added to it. The drinks were just bad, and none of us ordered an additional drink the rest of the time there. Also, all of our first reactions were that these were the smallest margaritas we have seen before.
For the meal, we ordered an appetizer (chips and salsa had looked good) and then he said he would also take our main meal orders as well. After that, we sat there and waited. No refills on any existing drinks, sodas or water. We sat there for 20 minutes, and then all of a sudden our main food order came out. Either the waiter completely forgot our appetizer, or the kitchen just never made it. We had to tell the waiter at that point to just cancel the appetizer order, and he just stared at us and just said... "ok".
The meals, were average. We had a wide range from burritos, tacos, the lawsuit, and nearly all of us were unhappy with what we received. Only one person said that they thought it was ok (not great). I took the burrito on the recommendation of the waiter, and it was just so incredibly plain (even being smothered) that it was just a waste to order.
Finally, after eating, we waited... again. At this point in time, we were all trying to leave, we didn't want to be here anymore. It took another 15 minutes for the waiter to come back out to us again just for us to ask for the check to leave.
Overall, we were let down on all aspects of this restaurant, the food, the service, and the drinks. The only good part of this place was the ambiance and decor. If I felt I could, I would 100% dispute the charge on my credit card to try to get my money back, it was such a let down. I wish I wasn't out $150 after this...
Read moreThis little gem is discreet, quaint and yet so ever welcoming. My favorite spot to pop in when I am southbound for meetings or get together with my happy circle. From lunch to happy hour and dinner, this place does not disappoint. Staff is always so friendly and cheerful. I never wait for a table and plenty of great spots to sit and linger.
The ambience is just so cozy from the macabre chandeliers to the beautiful plants decorating the walls and booths to the gorgeous stain glass back wall. Parking is on the local streets and not a far walk if you are in the neighboring streets.
Who can resist a salsa flight???? I love the smoky and spicy flavor of the tigre as well as the Clemente's cilantro lime avocado. I also stuff my face with their elote. I am a huge fan of the carne asada and carnita tacos. I haven't tried the quesa birria tacos. The Lawsuit is a very generous crunch wrap of carne asada, queso and ooey goodness.
Now let's get to the cocktails. Happy hour starts at 2:30pm and perfect excuse to sip on their house margarita. Highly recommend the tequila flights. Just sit and indulge for a while because they are strong! Be responsible and don't dance on the tables. Is it expensive here? Are you having a GREAT time? Exactly it is all relative to your enjoyment meter.
I am an avid learner because the right information can be life changing. So my advice, listen to Bien Y Tu's motto: come unwind,...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of dining at Bien Y Tu, Castle Rock’s newest Mexican restaurant, this weekend, and it was an experience worth the wait.
The chimichurri steak was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and well-seasoned. But what truly stood out was their unique take on a "healthy" margarita. As a fan of Eva Longoria’s green margarita, I was thrilled to find a similar version here, and it did not disappoint. It was refreshing, well-balanced, and had just the right amount of tequila.
The ambiance was stunning, with lush greenery creating a vibrant yet cozy atmosphere. While the restaurant’s popularity led to a 2.5-hour wait, we lucked out and found four seats at the bar after just a few minutes.
Speaking of the bar—the bartenders are the heart of this restaurant. We were served by Amber, who was nothing short of phenomenal. Despite working alongside just one other bartender to craft handmade cocktails for the entire restaurant, she delivered impeccable service with skill and speed. One small but telling detail: when they ran out of the signature glasses for the green margarita, she didn’t take shortcuts. Instead, she took the time to hand-wash glasses to ensure the best experience. That level of dedication speaks volumes!
If you're willing to wait, Bien Y Tu is absolutely worth it. Between the outstanding food, cocktails, and top-tier service, this is a must-visit spot in Castle Rock. We’ll...
