Ofrenda — Restaurant in Cave Creek

Let me be very clear, this is a ZERO star review, not a one star. My experience was awful, start to finish. Myself and 8 other girlfriends came to Ofrenda for a fun evening to celebrate our friend getting married. Not only was the service atrocious, but the fraudulent games they played, I’d be surprised if they make it. I had ordered a chicken Caesar salad. When my meal arrived it was missing the main component, the chicken, leaving me with lettuce and tomato.. quite literally. The other ingredients that were listed on the menu were nowhere to be found. I asked politely for chicken because hey, accidents happen. Fast forward 20 mins and half way through my salad and I had to ask again. The server seemed frustrated by this, which to me is unprofessional and rude. If you expect me to pay for something, I think it’s silly to get mad when I’m the one reminding you that I still have not received it. After 45 mins and my meal being finished, I no longer see the point in the chicken so I just tell my server it’s okay, I don’t need it. Because of this, the owner comes out to “make things right.” In reality, he came out to give us a bunch of excuses and point the blame at anyone other than himself or the server. The kicker, the server was his WIFE!

He did however apologize and try to make things right, saying the meal was on him.. until his wife comes back bringing me the bill. When it was brought to her attention that he had said he was covering the meal, she was very snarky stating that that is not what he told her. She reluctantly takes the check back. When it was time to return everyone else’s tabs, she sent a different server back with them to tell us that we are no longer allowed at their restaurant for the way we treated her serving staff. I’m sorry, the way we treated them?! The only rude person the entire evening was Tara, the worst server I have ever encountered. The woman who didn’t even have the decency to come back after we told her that her husband said he’d take care of the meal. She had him come back to speak with us and a new person drop the checks. On top of her bad attitude and lack of balls, for the lack of a better comparison, she had the audacity to add gratuity to the bills after the fact. Everyone gave their cards to make payment on a bill that she had changed after we stated our concerns. Call me crazy, but that is CRAZY!

Based on other reviews, I’m seeing that this is a trend and I’m not the only one with this experience. As for the 5 star reviews, I wouldn’t be surprised if those were from friends and family to help get the business off the ground. I’m all for supporting small businesses and friends, but when the service doesn’t match the level of product being promised, the review is tainted. Ofrenda needs to do better. And the owners/husband and wife duo need a serious reality check with how to treat paying customers. You can only skate by on fake reviews for so long.

If I could leave zero Stars I would this is the worst restaurant in all of Cave Creek. Beyond disappointed with this restaurant. I was so excited to try this place and the night we went was for my batchlorett party. I am so embarrassed that I picked this restaurant to celebrate a big thing in my life, as well as put 8 other people through the worst service experience all of us have ever had. Not only was the service terrible, but after being asked by the owner how things were and being honest things took a rather unnecessary turn. After everyone's bill's were dropped off and picked back up with our cards, they were returned with a 20% gratuity charge that was not there before. Turns out our server Tara was the owner's wife and clearly she knew she wouldn't be tipped generously. Not only that but the server that returned our checks told us that we were not allowed back because we treated the service staff poorly. I have worked in the service industry for 12yrs (most of our table has) and would never imagine treating a server with disrespect. When I confronted the owner he then proceeded to yell at me and make more excuses as to why everything was justified and said his wife (our server) said that we cursed at her. EXCUSE ME? No such thing happened and lying about it is pretty low. When I come back to the table my sister was trying to figure out why her card was charged to 4 separate Bill's none of which were hers. Like seriously? We were then shooed out by the owner's wife and told we needed to wait outside while they figure it out. Then she starts talking badly about us to one of her other tables... I have never experienced anything like this in my life. Not only that but our servers hair was down and I know that's against health code, plus they had a young girl probably 10yrs old running around the kitchen. Please don't bother spending your hard earned money here, this place is...

Ofrendas is a hidden gem in the world of Latin food, and we were blown away by the quality of their food and service. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The Ambience is amazing.

One of the standout features of Ofrendas is their handcrafted margaritas. My husband is a big fan of margaritas, and he was particularly impressed with the freshness and quality of the ingredients used in Ofrendas' margaritas. No pre made mixes at Ofrendas. 👏🏻 You can taste the difference in every sip, and they're the perfect accompaniment to any meal. They hand craft non alcoholic margaritas for me and I swear I taste all the fresh fruits in it. So refreshing.

As for the food, we were truly impressed with the range of flavors and textures on offer. Ofrendas takes Latin cuisine to a whole new level, with dishes that are both creative and delicious. We particularly enjoyed the Birria quesadilla and Suiza Enchiladas, which were bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked.

The guacamole is a must-try - it's always perfectly seasoned and the chips are crispy and fresh. And the homemade tortillas are a game-changer - they're so soft and flavorful, you won't be able to go back to store-bought tortillas. Guacamole at a whole new level for sure, so fresh so flavorful.

The service at Ofrendas is also exceptional. The staff is attentive and friendly, and they go out of their way to ensure that you have a great dining experience. They're knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations based on your preferences.

Overall, we highly recommend Ofrendas Latin food restaurant to anyone looking for a unique and memorable dining experience. The food, drinks, and service are all top-notch, and you won't be disappointed. We give Ofrendas a 5-star rating on all levels - it's truly a must-visit destination for anyone who loves...
